Beau Gâchis Paris Smudge Brush Review

Hey cherries!

Here’s one more eye brush review for you all. This Beau Gâchis Paris smudge brush is the newest addition in my brush box. While the brand was totally new to me, I didn’t enjoy my experience with the brush. Let’s find out why this smudge brush failed to impress me.

Beau Gâchis Paris Smudge Brush Review

Price: $14

Product Description:
This quality smudge brush enables beautiful, flawless application of loose or cream shadows. This Beau Gâchis Paris Cosmetic Smudge Brush is made of the finest materials that are also used by other top leaders in the beauty industry. We provide you with a handcrafted brush that enables beautiful and easy makeup applications. Made from the very latest high grade animal and synthetic hair, natural wood and copper ferrules. Because we use only the finest materials, our brushes apply makeup like the pros and are really easy to maintain and clean.

My Take on Beau Gâchis Paris Smudge Brush:

This smudge brush has a black plastic handle, with “smudge-tache” written over. The handle is of good quality and has appropriate length to facilitate easy application. The silver metallic ferrule holds the white colored bristles tightly. But Beau Gâchis brushes are hand crafted, so I found some loose strands in bristles which came out while washing the brush. Otherwise, while regular use, there is no shedding. Also, no bristles were lost after first wash.

brush head

Now coming to the quality of bristles, they are designed in dome shape which makes blending much easier and flawless rather than smudging. This makes “smudge-tache” more of a blending brush to me than a smudging brush. The bristles are a mix of synthetic and natural hairs. They are thinner than what I had expected. Due to the lack of density in the bristle dome, I wasn’t much happy blending/smudging powder eye shadows with it. More effort is required with powder eye shadows to achieve flawless look. Unexpectedly, the brush works wonderfully with cream eye shadows. Not only it saves a lot of product but blends it easily and in an even manner too.

brush

The brush is easy to manage and clean and dries in no time. However, with a regular shampoo, I feel a bit of pigmented colors stays with white bristles so you will need to keep a specified makeup brush cleanser if you want to retain pearly white color in bristles. The bristles retained the shape after wash but I felt reduction in softness and silkiness.

• Handcrafted brushes.
• Premium quality materials used.
• Easy to manage, clean and dries fast.
• Bristles retain their shape after every wash.
• Can also be used as a blending brush.
• Works wonderfully with cream eye shadows.

Cons of Beau Gâchis Paris Smudge Brush:

• Slight shedding of bristles on first wash.
• Lacks the firmness in bristles for smudging.
• Should have been denser.

IMBB Rating: 3.5/5

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Beau Gâchis Paris Smudge Brush?
It is indeed a nice brush but it is overpriced for the quality. The brand looks promising; I have glanced at their face brushes and they look appealing to me and I might grab one anytime soon from the face brush range. But the smudge brush isn’t a persuaded recommendation from my side. I won’t go back to this particular brush. Ciao!
