How are you doing today? I am back with my first Beauty Blender makeup tool which was in my wish list for a long time. However, I am not very impressed with the product especially if I compare it to the The Original Beauty Blender that created ripples in the beauty world! The tasks of blending and buffing have become a cakewalk with these sponges, and who does not know about Beauty Blender Cleanser Solid! However, I think I was happy even before these sponges came into my life, but I cannot neglect the eye-catching, cute packaging either! Anyway, let’s read more about Beauty Blender Blotterazzi!
A better way to blot! This game-changing washable, reusable alternative to blotting papers in iconic beautyblender® pink allows for precise, cushion blotting. Shaped to fit all contours of the face, blotterazzi™ saves you from unused corners like traditional blotting papers. The award-winning beautyblender ® material stays “thirsty” when its dry, absorbing excess oil without disturbing makeup and leaving skin looking radiant. The chic mirrored compact contains two blotting cushions for beauty touch ups on the go. A vented back and clear, hygienic separator ensures sponge freshness. Use dry. Wash with liquid blendercleanser® or blendercleanser® solid® and dry in a well ventilated area. blotterazzi™ is handcrafted in the USA.
$20 for 2 washable oil blotting sponges (0.62 inches deep x 3.5 inches wide x 4.5 inches high)
My Experience with Beauty Blender Blotterazzi:
Well, these cute neon pink Blotterazzi sponges are neatly placed inside an off white colored, tear drop shaped, classy packaging that I would like to keep forever even if they work below average on my skin. 😛 I usually console myself that my 20 bucks are worth it just for the packaging which also comprises of a mirror and a plastic sheet to separate both the sponges inside this plastic case. I prefer using these sponges over blotting papers just for the packaging which actually looks so stylish (I know it sounds weird, but sometimes stylish packaging is the deal maker for me). 😛
I have observed that these sponges and packaging alone fetch me million gazes even with that oily face, which is surprising. LOL! As Beauty Blender claims, these sponges are also made of the same things as the original one, but these are slightly rough (not harsh on skin though) and dry to soak excess oil and shine off our face. They do feel soft against our skin and never accentuate my sensitive – oily skin issue, thankfully! Yes gals, I find them pretty soft & fluffy which also work decent on my excessively oily skin. But, as I said earlier, I was happy even before using this technique on my skin.
To be precise, I have oily skin which looks shiny even within 4-5 hours of applying any good quality oil free makeup and while these sponges suck oil off my face, I miss that ‘matte effect’ even after using them as per the instructions. I usually swear by Clinique Stay Matte Powder & Tarte Amazonian Clay Mineral Pressed Powder which blot excess oil effectively giving fresh skin. But it cannot be an alternative for everything, right? And hence, I thought of trying these sponges which do work on my oily skin and they suck up oil, but I can still notice a shiny layer on my skin which gets subsided only by powder touch up.
At times, I find them good enough to control oil for decent hours, but I am not very impressed with their oil controlling formula or property. I have used them alone on my bare skin and they gave me satisfactory results as in I did achieve shine free skin, but I still needed a powder touch up. I can see that their teardrop shape is ideal for our face and they can effortlessly reach every nook & corner of our face only if they were good enough to impart matte finish.
Moreover, I agree that the blotting paper often seems messy and harsh and that’s where these soft, flexible sponges seem to be a winning deal. Plus, if we compare their price, I find them quite reasonable in the long run as these sponges are one time investment considering they are washable. Hence, I think they can be given a chance, but if you have severely oily skin, I don’t think they will be able to satisfy you much.
Personally, I like them for that cute, pink, tear drop shape and their classy case; nothing related to their performance though. 😛 If you ask me about their performance, I feel that a decent blotting paper gives me better results than these high end sponges.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Beauty Blender Blotterazzi:
• Soft and fluffy.
• Acts tough on oil and shine without affecting sensitive skin.
• Soaks up excess oil to some extent, nothing impressive though.
• Easy to wash and handle.
• Looks classy and stylish with an eye candy packaging.
• I think these sponges will work better for normal and combination skin.
• The packaging is every makeup collector’s dream item.
Cons of Beauty Blender Blotterazzi:
• Does not give me “matte finish.”
• I can see a shiny layer on my t-zone and cheeks even after blotting.
• I don’t see their usage other than blotting excess oil, that too is below expectation.
• Pricey for the performance.
Well, I am yet to discover their best possible usage other than what they are supposed to do. Their cute eye candy packaging is the only reason they are still in my travel bag and vanity. I don’t think I would like to get them again, however I cannot deny the fact that I always reach to them since they look so appealing. To be frank, if you are looking for results, skip them. Buy them only if the packaging intrigues you.

It’s sooo damn pink Neets 🙂 but if does not give you matte finish, no use 🙁
actually!! but packaging n these cuties r so so tempting 🙂
The packaging is really very beautiful and attractive Neetu! I would also get it just for the packaging. I think it is apt for people like me who get oily skin just during monsoons. Well reviewed, I have noticed that not many products impress you these days. 😛
haha yeah shikha actually summers are not ideal season to experiment with skin considering my weirdo oily acne prone skin which is highly prone to mildest of infection or irritation. hence I become choosy n strict with skin care beauty purchases 😛
It looks cute but it’s a bit disappointment considering its price.
yes mariyam considering its price it wud have been still justified but they are not good at their claims!!
This looks like some fancy candy. But doesn’t deliver results, dats really sad after shelling that amount.
yes khushi 🙂 by the way u changed a lot and good haan 🙂 happy to see u here again!!
It looks cute and girly.
yeah its really cute!! 🙂
these look absoluttely prettyyy. so pinkkk. 😛 I would end up having hygiene issues with these. like blotting paper soak up excess oil and then you throw them away. Lets say if you’d have to blot like 5-6 times a day with the same sponge… I am not sure how clean that is.
yeah pretty valid point rati, thankfully I didnt find this issue so far as I need it only twice a day and yeah it wud be so tedious washing drying every alternate day for hygienic issues. 😛 It does not look used up even after 3-4 usages but yeah we cannot deny hygienic factors.
