Today, I have come with the review of a product that has become a staple of my makeup bag. It is a product that is on the must-buy list of most ladies that know about it. It is the Godiva of makeup tools-presenting the Beauty Blender Pro!!

Beauty blender as we all know by now comes in three variants, the original pink one, the pro blender in black and the pure blender in white for sensitive skin. The beauty blender original has already been reviewed (here) on IMBB. So while I was brainstorming on the IMBB sponsored product to purchase, I came across this product and well frankly, Christmas came early, so to say 😉 I am so thankful to Rati, Jomol, Neha, Sanjeev and all the members of IMBB team, for the leeway that they give to us writers,and the way they appreciate our efforts.

So, off the emotional train now, and let’s see how this product has fared for me.

Beautyblender PRO is the perfect application method for darker-toned products that would be difficult to rinse clean from a lighter colored applicator. Use with complexion products, long-wear makeup and self-tanners for flawless results.
Beautyblender PRO features an open cell structure that fills with small amounts of water when wet. This allows the sponge to be “full” so that the makeup product sits on top of the sponge rather than being absorbed into the sponge, allowing you to use less product every time. When wet, Beautyblender doubles in size and becomes even softer, returning to its original size when it air dries.

This travel-friendly alternative to the liquid Blendercleanser provides the same cleansing results and soothing lavender fragrance, along with a custom grid to dry Beautyblender and deep clean brushes. This cleanser supports the integrity of the blender as well as removes excess residue and germs for clean makeup application.

Wet Beautyblender or makeup brushes. Rub Beautyblender or makeup brushes over the soap, creating lather; repeat if necessary. Gently squeeze Beautyblender or brushes and rinse again to remove any excess cleanser and water. Set Beautyblender to dry on the custom grid. Deep clean brushes by placing the custom grid over the soap, wetting the brush and swishing it back and forth across grid to create a scrubbing lather. Rinse. Note: do not use the scrubbing process with Beautyblender, as it can damage the material.

My experience with Beauty Blender Pro + Blender Cleanser Solid Set:

Before I get into the details of my experience, I would like to share the difference between the original and pro beauty blender. Firstly, due to its color or otherwise, the Pro beauty blender is non-staining. This is why it is recommended for professional makeup artists. The pink beauty blender, no matter how well you clean and maintain it, is prone to staining. Next is the difference in size. The Beauty Blender pro is larger than the original beauty blender. Its tip is broader than the original one, which has a pointy tip. Another difference is that the Beauty blender pro is equally suited for powder products, which the original beauty blender is not. Also, unlike the original blender it completely squeezes out the water, while still staying damp.

When I purchased this product, I went through a number of tutorials on YouTube on how to use it. I have used it around ten times now, and feel that am in a position of giving a genuine review. This product is not over rated. I have used makeup brushes, the foundation, buffing, stippling brushes and have also used my fingers to lay on foundation, this product beats the bejeezes out of all the above methods. There is something about this damp sponge that gives such a fine airbrushed finish; I myself forget I am wearing foundation. Everything is evenly blended out, not streaky at all. It gives a pore-less finish, which most primers fail to give. Quite frankly, in my humble opinion, this is one makeup tool you should invest in.

A word of caution. The beauty blender needs to be cleaned as soon as you use it. This is a really annoying part, if you are hard pressed for time. But, unfortunately you just cannot skip the cleaning part. I cannot stress this fact enough. The horror stories that I saw on YouTube of Beauty blenders getting mildew and what not have tainted my conscience for life! This is part of the reason why I went for this kit and would INSIST you buy the blender cleanser with your beauty blender. Although the kit is pricier, the beauty blender itself is an investment. So, you must maintain it well so that ,it pays dividends for long, so to say The solid cleanser which comes with this beauty blender promise very travel friendly and does its job really well. It keeps my Beauty Blender, shining stark black in all its glory, more importantly; it keeps it free from bacteria.

Pros of Beauty Blender Pro + Blender Cleanser Solid Set:

• Does not stain.
• Equally good for powder and cream products.
• Comes with a travel-friendly solid cleanser.

Cons of Beauty Blender Pro + Blender Cleanser Solid Set:

• Expensive.
• Not easily available in India.
• Must wash after every use, so not suitable when hard pressed for time.
