Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub Review

Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub Review

Hi Beautifuls,

How are you all? I feel so lethargic nowadays that I can sleep whole day long if my mum allows me to 😛 Seriously, the period after exams and before the results, seems to be made for utter laziness. Even if you sleep for fourteen hours a day, it seems less and if by mistake you pick up a subject, feeling a bit of shame for this super “aalsiness” of yours, they will act as sleeping pills. That’s the story of my life nowadays. The couch, the bed, the chair, you name the place and I can sleep there 😀  Anyway, the product that I am going to review today is Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub. I had purchased this around a month back, and have been using it on and off, on an average 3 times a week, in the night. Let’s see how it fared on my super oily and a little bit sensitive skin.

Product/Price/Packaging/Description/Ingredients:

Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub comes in tube packaging, with flip open cap, which shuts tightly, so it’s quite travel friendly, although the big size counters this pro. It comes at a price of Rs. 195/- for a 150 ml tube, which is quite affordable. I got it at a discount for Rs. 135/-.  You can check out the description, ingredients and rest of the attributes from the pictures.

My Experience with Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub:

The smell of the products is very soothing to sensitive noses, like a heavy cream. I don’t know but probably you will understand this better when you smell it for yourself, that when you close your eyes and inhale, you will imagine a cream, not a scrub.

The texture of the scrub is super creamy with medium size granules. The granules are big and a bit rough, but that coarseness is counteracted by the creaminess of the scrub, reducing the abrasiveness of granules. Not for a moment does the scrub feel like it is abusing my skin in any way. I use it with a light hand for 3 to 5 minutes, and it feels like I am massaging my face with a super soft cream which is getting absorbed at the same time as the granules scrub away the dead skin and loosen the blackheads.

This scrub does not claim to remove blackheads, although most apricot scrubs do that. I had a severe problem of blackheads, which has toned down by nearly 70 percent over years of CTM routine and scrubbing with face pack application. So, personally I feel, that there is no wonder product which can get rid of severe blackheads in week or month. However, this has cleared up my skin, and smoothened it out, as per the claims. My blackheads are in control and face is radiant, but that can also be contributed to the fact that I have used up two tubes of Himalaya Apricot face wash in day time, along with application of Clean and Clear Oil Balancing Moisturizer after that.

It does not remove makeup completely, i.e. if you remove your eye and lip makeup, using your remover, and then wash off your face, scrubbing with this one, then while you are toning, your cotton pad will pick up the residue face product that this one did not clean. However, after scrubbing and toning, the makeup gets removed completely.

Although it is not mentioned on the packaging how many times in a week you should use it, I think you can use it every alternate day. It feels like a cream massage on face which is scrubbing away dead cells. After rinsing it off, my skin feels soft and supple, and the creaminess of the scrub can get you away from your night cream on days when you want to go bare. No dryness or stretchy skin.

Summing up:

Pros of Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub:

  • Travel friendly due to sturdy packaging and cap.
  • Reasonably priced, with a good quantity to offer.
  • Soothing smell.
  • Very creamy in texture.
  • Leaves skin soft, smooth and supple.
  • Clears skin over time by removing dead cells.
  • Moisturizes skin along with scrubbing.
  • The moisture does not make oily skin uncomfortable and the creamy texture does not make oily skin greasy. Although I recommend oily skin beauties to use it at night.
  • It is very good for dry skin too as it will not leave the skin stretchy and dry. Also, the granules will not be rough due to the creamy texture which soothes the skin simultaneously.
  • Slowly works on blackheads, removes mild ones, but not ones that are deep seated.

Cons of Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub:

  • Availability, I cannot find it anywhere online except for a few portals.
  • Contains a whole lot of scary ingredients. I don’t know but whenever I see alcohol and parabens in one line, it gives me reason to worry about. *scared* Thankfully, this one is working wonderfully on my skin. Touchwood. *haanji*
  • Does not remove makeup completely; however, this is not entirely a con, as by the end of toning step, your makeup is removed.

IMBB Rating and Recommendation:

My rating for Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub is 3.5/5

It is a reasonably priced scrub, which works great to smooth and even out skin tone, removing mild blackheads and whiteheads along the way. However, if you are looking for deep-seated blackhead removals, you are in for a disappointment. Also, the list of ingredients isn’t impressive too, especially for sensitive skin damsels.

Do I Recommend Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub?

Yes, you can give it a try for the creamy scrubbing.

Would I Repurchase Beauty Formulas Apricot Facial Scrub?

I don’t think so. It will last me another month, and then I will switch off to some other brand.

Hope you all found my review useful. Till the next time, see you all. Stay gorgeous, healthy and of course, beautiful. 😀 😀

I use it thrice a week because the granules are coarse..but coarseness is compensated by the creaminess of the scrub 😀 so they dot feel abrasive on skin 🙂
