Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach Review

Skin Tone:  Medium-deep; NC 42-44
Skin Type:  Dry-combination; sensitive; acne prone.

Hello beautiful ladies,

Color correcting is not new, it’s a huge trend nowadays. Color correcting neutralizes discolorations on the skin. Everyone wants even skin tone, but we have way too many issues to worry about, be it redness, acne scars, dullness, hyperpigmentation, or the most common ones – dark circles. But these issues can be solved by color-correcting, by applying contrasting color shades. I have hyperpigmentation, dark spots and dark circles too, so while looking out for color correctors, I picked up this Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach from Becca.
Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach

Product Description:
The highly pigmented formula targets and adheres to specific areas of concern, while light-reflecting pearls impart subtle luminosity that help to blur imperfections. Instead of trying to cover dark circles and hyper-pigmentation, this pigment-rich targeted color corrector actually neutralizes discoloration in a light-reflecting formula that blurs imperfections and works underneath the foundation and/or concealer to create an even-tone, perfected and beautiful complexion.  Free of parabens and talc.  Neutralizes dark circles and hyper-pigmentation.

My Experience with Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach:

Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach comes in a small, matte finish glass jar. The jar feels heavy and has a screw top lid. The jar is just a little bit bigger than any gel eyeliner jar.
Peach corrector

The Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach is not actually peach in color. 😉 It is coral-orange and creamy in texture. It applies smoothly and feels like some thick eye cream. However, it is better to prep the under eye area first. When the SA at Sephora applied it on me for the first time, she applied an eye cream first, my favorite Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized which is light and gets absorbed easily.
Becca Color corrector

I give the eye cream a minute for it to sink into the skin and then apply the color corrector. A teeny-tiny bit of product is required. If you apply too much, you will have to blend it too much and also it would crease. Plus if too much product it used, it would show through the concealer/foundation and again more of that would be required to cover the orange tint. :/
Becca corrector

Only a sesame seed sized product is enough for using under one eye. It blends easily using fingers or brush. I normally use my Sigma 3DHD Precision Brush for blending the product. With this product, concealer and foundation cannot be skipped as this corrector cannot be worn alone. So, it is not a product that can be applied in a hurry. Also, since it is a cream-based product, it should be set with a powder. If not set properly, it would move.
Peach color corrector

Also, one must be a bit careful while using peach corrector, to use the product in targeted areas so that it can cancel out the concern. If it spreads outside the area of concern, it would make the makeup appear orange-y. It cancels out dark circles and hyperpigmentation beautifully and makes a lot of difference. It brightens up my under-eye area. Also, I need to use considerably less amount of foundation/concealer with this. 🙂
Swatch on hands

I do not have very severe dark circles to begin with, but it would work for girls with medium skin tones unless you have grave problem of dark circles. The Sephora SA was very fair and used the same product on herself as well, so it would work on fair girls as well.
details at the back

I have worn it for 8 hours or so and it stayed on pretty well. There was a little bit of creasing under my eye after that, but if more product or concealer is used, it creases pretty easily, which would happen anyhow if too much product is used.
Bare eye

Corrected and concealed

The product has a wax-like smell which is neither too overwhelming and does not stay on for long.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector Peach?
It is a good product for girls with dry-normal skin, but I would not recommend it for those with oily skin. For girls with deeper skin tones and really dark under eyes, the shade “Papaya” would work better. You can always try the shades in store to find out which one works for you better. I really like this product and may repurchase it, but I like trying out new products every time. 🙂
