Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette Review

Hello everyone,

I personally believe a good matte eyeshadow palette is a must-have in every makeup kit. You can do so much with it. It can be supplemented with so many shimmery shades or can be used on its own. I have been recently loving this palette and using it constantly. This review will be on the Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette.

Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette

A palette of five eye shades designed to beautifully contour and enhance the eyes.

What it does:

Sculpt, widen, and brighten your eyes with Ombre Rouge Eye Palette. Matte shades provide pigment-rich tones to effortlessly create a variety of looks that go from subtle to bold. These shadows are infused with green coffee oil, which awakens the eyes and smooth the lids, while a built-in priming effect extends the wear of your shadow. With warm and cool undertones that are ideal for all skin tones, this palette’s versatile formula can be used wet or dry as an eyeliner.  It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and pthalates.

My Experience with Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette:

Becca is a brand renowned for their highlighters, but surprisingly, this brand does not count as “one trick pony.” This is the first eye palette that I have tried from this brand and it is a sure hit for me.

Packaging:  Super sleek compact with a mirror finish which does attract fingerprints. It has a nice-sized mirror inside and 5 eye shadows.

Texture and Blend-ability:  These shadows are so buttery smooth and silky. They do not feel chalky and have an almost creamy finish to them. They are super easy to blend and they apply flawlessly without any effort.

Shade:  I love the placement of these shades ranging from lightest to the darkest. The shades don’t have any names, instead they are just numbered from 1-5.  This palette is super similar in idea with the Naked Basics palette, but I find the colors in this palette to be much more complex than just a basic beige, brown and black. They look much more flattering on the eye and when supplemented with other shimmery shades give them a boost of beauty. The looks you can create with this palette are softer, more wearable for every day.

I picked up this “Ombre Rouge” variant as this is warm-toned palette which is my absolute favorite kind of shades. There is also an ombre n*de version, which has a similar format of color, but the shades are cool toned.

1 – This shade is a creamy peach-toned beige. The finish is matte. It is very similar to my skin tone hence it does not show up clearly in the swatch. It literally disappears on my skin, but gives the area it is applied to a brighter look. I usually use this as a highlight or all over my lid to set my primer.

2 – This shade is a pinky plum with a slight satin sheen, can be a great transition shade.

3 – This is a medium rosy brown shade. It is a great crease color.

4 – An earthy orange-y brown color. Absolutely gorgeous as an all-over lid color or even in the crease. My favorite color in the palette.

5- A deep smokey plumy brown. Great to smoke out the lower lash line and as a outer V or crease shade. Can be also used as an all over lid color if you want to create smokey eyes.

Pigmentation:  All the shades in the palette have good pigmentation, but they need to be built up to come out opaque, which is a good quality when it comes to matte shadows. When you are applying matte colors as transition or crease shades, the effect needs to be soft and diffused. If you want the pigmentation to be stronger, using these shadows over a primer would help immensely.

Staying Power:  These shadows wore well for 6-7 hours before starting to fade, which I consider as a pretty good wear time. There was no creasing.

Golden eye makeup

Overall, I am very impressed with this palette. It has everything I look for in a good matte palette. The colors are spot on with what I envisioned with the beautiful warm earthy tones.  The texture and blend-ability are super. Though $40 is a bit steep, but considering the fact that these colors can be incorporated in every look, it is well worth the money. I totally recommend this.

In the EOTD, I used a blend of 3 and 4 in the crease. Used 2 all over the lid and 1 as a highlight. Used 5 as an outer V shade and to smoke out the lower lash line.

Do you like my double wing eyeliner? I was in the mood of doing something different to jazz up the simple eye look and this just happened. I have used Kat Von D Metal Crush Shadow in the shade “Danzig” to create the purple wing.

Pros of Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette:

  • Beautiful colors.
  • Sleek packaging.
  • Soft creamy shadows.
  • Good pigmentation.
  • Supplements most eye makeup colors.
  • Good staying power.
  • Does not crease.
  • Good combination of colors.

Cons of Becca Ombre Rouge Eye Palette:

  • Expensive.

  1. Neha, you do your eye makeup so beautifully and neatly, that it’s a treat for our eyes 😛 I was excited about that Danzig shade when you previewed it, totally rocking! Neha, what’s the mascara that you have used?

  2. Hi there! I’m thinking of getting either this palette, or the Limecrime Venus palette. Which would you pick between the two?

    1. Hey Robyn
I’d personally would go with the Venus just because the colors are more pigmented and I like the color selection better completely “neutral” as this beeca one .. But many people don’t like lime crime due to controversy so plz research before u invest
