Becca is a brand, which I started learning about last year. When I followed the brand for a couple of months, I found that the highlighters from this company are really worth giving a try. Keeping this in mind, I paid a visit to my closest Sephora and Ulta. Here, I am reviewing their highlighter also known as ‘Shimmering skin perfector’ in Rose gold.
Just like the NARS packaging, this also has a cool toned brown colored rubberized outer circular casing. Obviously, it would be attracting dust. The top cover has a steel coating in the central portion. As we open the cover, there is a good-sized mirror given at the back of the cover. The product is embedded in the base. It weighs 8grams, which I feel is not sufficient considering the hefty price tag. At the back, there is a silver sticker on which the shade name, manufacturing details, product name, weight etc. other details are mentioned. The case is quite sleek being only 1.2 cm thick. The lid closes with a ‘click’ sound and is quite secure. This product packaging is quite travel-friendly on which embossed “Becca” is present.
Texture is very smooth, has a butter-like consistency. It feels very silky when a swatch is taken on finger. The shimmer particles are finely milled. It evenly transfers on my skin. No powdery feel or texture. It feels like cream almost! It is not drying on skin. There is no spillage when a brush is dipped in the product.
The product is so soft to touch. The finish is a soft sheen one. I think it can be used dry as well as wet. Making the product wet will enable to pack on more pigment. The highlighter is very easy to blend too.
$38 (approximately INR 2300)
This shade belongs to rose gold family. It is pretty pigmented. My skin color is medium with beige undertones. On my skin, this shade can easily be used as a very light blush. For lighter complexion, it will act as a blush itself. It has a very pretty glow and it will flatter Indian skin tones well. It packs a very good amount of product in one swatch. It can be used on the eyelid as an all over color. I use it mostly on the high points of my face. Sometimes, it makes my lip color look three dimensional and other times as a blush topper. It is quite pigmented still it will not make you look oily in summer.
The staying power is good. It can hold on my combination to dry skin for up to 6-7 hours without fading or making you look greasy. I like to highlight even without any other makeup, so with a primer, it can work couple of hours more. Try a setting spray, it will hold forever.
Pros of Becca Rose Gold Shimmering Pressed Skin Perfector :
- Very pigmented
- Great staying power
- Super soft, butter like texture
- Finely milled shimmer to give a very natural glow
- Travel-friendly packaging
- Easily available in India too
Cons of Becca Rose Gold Shimmering Pressed Skin Perfector :
Less product for the cost.
Would I recommend Becca Rose Gold Shimmering Pressed Skin Perfector to everyone?
Yes, I would definitely recommend it because of two reasons:
First, it is a perfect highlighter cum eye shadow. Use your imagination and it becomes a multi-tasking product.
Second, it is easily available for Indians too, at least online. Some cult-favorite international products are difficult to buy here in India.
So if you want to have a high-end product in your makeup trousseau, I recommend this as a good purchase.
