Becca Sweet Pea Mineral Blush Review

I am a fan of Becca highlighters, tints and soufflés. I have reviewed Becca Rose Gold Shimmering Pressed Skin Perfector earlier. I have had my hands on tints, soufflés and blushes too, and I liked them. Especially the soufflé is a unique product that I am looking forward to review on IMBB in future. Here, I would like to share my experience of using Becca’s Mineral Blush in Sweet Pea.

My Experience with Becca Sweet Pea Mineral Blush:

Packaging:
This blush comes in a circular case. The case has ash brown color rubberized exterior like NARS and a steel top on which BECCA is embossed. At the back of the packaging, all details like manufacturing, product weight etc., are mentioned. The amount of the product by weight is 6gm. Many people have compared the packaging to a UFO and I agree. There is a good sized mirror at the back of the lid. The lid closes securely with a ‘click’. I like that mirror! It is enough to fit my cheeks for application purpose and subsequent touch ups. There is no additional applicator provided.

Texture:
I did not know that Becca had such wonderful blushes too. The first time I took a swatch, I could feel the powder melting in the grooves of my finger. It was smooth. Sweet Pea is a satin finish blush without shimmer or glitter in it. It was neither dry when I dipped my brush in it nor was it drying on skin. It blended very smoothly on my wrist as well as on my cheeks. For more coverage, I can build it up very easily too. You can compare the smoothness to shimmering skin perfectors. I will suggest using only a natural blush brush to apply it because it is too soft for a synthetic brush.

Pigmentation:
I like the shade a lot. In one swatch, I was able to pick up ample amount of color. This shade is a plum bronze color. This means that it can be used as a bronzing blush. It spreads evenly when blended on the wrist. It will show up very well on lighter skin tones. For darker complexion, you have to work by building up the color. This shade can be hard to see on people with brown skin like us. It also serves as a perfect crease color for eyes. Everything is perfect, but for this price, I had expected a little bit more pigmentation. Building up the color may result in finishing up the product quite fast.

Staying Power:
It stays well for 6-7 hours. Yes, the staying power is quite good. One has to pay this much money for  small amount of product; but at least they have given a good reason to like this product.

Pros of Becca Sweet Pea Mineral Blush:

• Superb, creamy texture
• Very cute and sturdy packaging
• Travel friendly
• Workable pigmentation
• Decent staying power
• Easily available online
• Nice bronzy shade
• No fall out or powdery feeling

Cons of Becca Sweet Pea Mineral Blush:

• Costly, considering the pigmentation and amount of product

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5

Would I Recommend Becca Sweet Pea Mineral Blush?
It is a collector’s item. So, if you are super crazy about long staying blushes that have a superb texture too, I will recommend this to you. For me, the point of paying $32 for such little product did not work out. I could have gone for Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes at lesser price. There are better options in other high-end brands for this price with good amount of product. Although everything’s great, I am still finding a justification for spending this much money for this little amount. What do you say?

  1. Aww Ankita, I can actually feel how much you love your products. But, as you have mentioned, it seems way expensive for the price. Like the UFO packaging though.
