My Experience with Benefit Boo Boo Zap

This is actually like a saviour product. I picked up Bo Boo Zap months ago and I have given it a multiple trials before I decided to write a review for it. I never buy those pimple treatment products. One, I have normal to dry skin and I am sort of blessed with clear skin. But every on an off when I have a breakout or a zit, I do a quick DIY pimple treatment search on IMBB and rely on some home remedy or the other. Since I picked up a lot of skincare products from Benefit during my Europe trip, I thought I’d give this a go as well.

Boo Boo Zap comes in this sleep cylindrical mint green tube with wooden look cap. It’s a transparent liquid that kinda smells a bit alcohol-ish but nothing too strong or bothersome.

Every time I have a breakout or a pimple, I put it on and then keep reapplying it after it dries out. I have to say that this has worked every single time in minimising the pimple. It is not a miracle worker but it honestly speeds up the process. I have used it overnight many times and my pimple / breakout has definitley looked smaller. But I notice that it works better if you keep reapplying it- I mean basically get obsessed with drying out your pimple and boo boo zap would help it disappear faster. The best thing is that it is completely transparent so you can apply it below your makeup as well. This way you can be rest assured that your skin is getting a treatment at all times.

It basically helps in drying out the pimple so sometimes the area around the pimple also looks dry. But that’s okay because that can totally be taken care of after wards. I have also noticed that it is quite effective in reducing the scars left behind after the pimple dries out.

I would like to mention that it may not be an idea product for acne treatment. Please do consult your doc before trying it out. But for on and off breakouts, I think it’s a fabulous product. But don’t expect it to start working after just first use only (the way I did), be a little patient keep reapply it and it works! No every time I have a zit, I always reach for it. Totally in my must have products list. 🙂

I somehow am not a fan of the packaging. I find it difficult to control the amount of product that comes out of the tube even though it has a small opening. A minor gripe though. 🙂
