Benefit Chachatint Cheek and Lip Stain Review

By Orianna Jessica Dcruz

Hi, everyone!

Today I will be reviewing something from Benefit Cosmetics. They launched the Benetint Cheek and Lip Stain and it took the beauty world by storm. After the huge success of Benetint, they launched three more lip and cheek stains: Posietint, Chachatint, and Lollitint. Today, I will be reviewing Chachatint.

Price: INR 3000 at Sephora India but I got mine from Italy airport for $30
Product Description:
This mango-tinted stain beautifully blushes lips & cheeks with a tropical coral hue. Our sheer stain has a natural finish that will leave you looking deliciously vibrant for hours.
• Smooch-proof
• Smudge-proof
• Long-wearing

How to Use:
Take your place on the dancefloor, then smile! That’s the easiest way to find the apples of your cheeks and just the spot for coral color! Apply three small strokes of chachatint, then blend. Now dot on your pout and blend. Cha cha cha!

My Experience with Benefit Chachatint Cheek and Lip Stain:

Chachatint is a lovely orange tint that can be used on the lips or the cheeks. The packaging is a cylindrical bottle with a metallic orange body and a white cap. The product has ‘Chachatint’ written over it in a fancy font. I really thought the applicator would be a doe foot one but it is more like the nail paint applicator. A doe foot applicator would have been better because I wouldn’t have to blend the product with my fingers. The bottle is small and secure enough for travel purposes.

In the bottle, the colour looks like a rich shade of orange but it applies like an orange-toned rosy pink shade. The consistency is pretty much like a thick liquid. When you first apply the dots, the shade appears to be bright orange, but when you blend it out, it turns pinker. It offers a sheer coverage like most tints. I have pigmented lips and this tint does nothing to cover up pigmentation, but it gives my lips a healthy colour. I have NC42 skin, so it looks like a natural lip color on me. But on fairer skin tones, it would look more orange. You can always add another layer to build up the colour.

On my cheeks, too, it looks like I have a natural flush. Again, I have darker skin so the warm orange tint looks natural on me. It would definitely show up more orange on fairer skin tones. Even though it has a liquidy consistency, it dries up pretty fast. So if you don’t blend it out on your cheeks or lips fast enough, it could leave streaks of tint, which we obviously don’t want. If you choose to blend it with your fingers it also leaves a stain on your fingers, so you could always use a brush.

The formula is smooth at first but it can be a bit drying on your lips. So, I recommend you exfoliate first and add a lip balm over the tint if you have dry lips. If you apply a lip balm beforehand, the tint won’t stain your lips or stay as long as it usually does. The staying power is around 5-6 hours even with light meals. On the cheeks, it stays for around 5 hours. It doesn’t transfer or flake or fade unevenly. In fact, even when it fades it looks like you have naturally pink lips.

This product is perfect for summers because blush might cake up if you sweat and lipsticks melt in the heat. You can even pull out an extra use for it by applying a slight layer on your eyelids for an achromatic look. It’s a bit expensive for a seemingly small bottle but a little product goes a long way.

Pros of Benefit Chachatint Cheek and Lip Stain:

• Cute, travel-friendly packaging
• ‘Chachatint’ gives a natural flush of color on your lips and cheeks
• Suitable for all skin tones and skin types
• Long lasting
• A little goes a long way

Cons of Benefit Chachatint Cheek and Lip Stain:

• It’s a little heavy on the pocket
• Needs to be blended ASAP
• Stains fingers if you blend with your hand
• I would have prefered a doe foot applicator

IMBB Rating: 4.5/5
Summary:
Frankly, I love this product. It’s perfect for days when you’re in a rush or if you’re going for the no-makeup makeup look. It is a tad bit expensive but can be worth the investment if you like your makeup routine fuss-free .
