My recent purchase from Sephora is this wonderful looking palette from Benefit Cosmetics. It is meant to enhance your eyes (hence the name) and it comes with a handy step by step instruction booklet for those in need. Read on to see how I liked it.

My Experience Benefit Cosmetics Big Beautiful Eyes Palette:

The Benefit Big Beautiful Eyes Palette is designed to line,design, and contour your eyelids. It comes in a magnetic cardboard box which is pretty hard and sturdy so it is perfect to throw in your purse. Also it is perfect for traveling since it won’t open up and it snaps shut. It also comes with 3 kinds of brushes, one is intended for contouring, the other one is a liner brush and a separate brush for concealing. The brushes aren’t much of a use for me because I prefer using bigger brushes for better results but if I really HAD to use the brushes I am sure they would do the trick with a little extra effort, plus if you are traveling then you wouldn’t have to worry about bringing different brushes since they all fit in the palette. Also, it comes with a pamphlet which includes tips and tricks and information about the palette. This palette consists of 3 colors and 1 concealer pan. The first pan is a concealer the shade BOI-ING 02, now I really do not know what they were thinking when they chose the concealer color. The color will definitely NOT match all skin tones and the only shade available is the one I have so I do not know how useful this concealer is to everyone. For me, this shade is a bit on the dark side plus its too tan for me.

Also, it is very dry and not very creamy. It is hard to apply it and blending it leaves streaky marks. Definitely not my favorite! The other pan contains a very pretty peachy pink color which is meant to be the base shadow but honestly you can also use it as a highlight. Its a shimmery pinkish nude color which is very nicely pigmented and long lasting. The second color is the contour shadow which is also a beautiful shimmery light brown shade. It looks like it is a true brown shade but actually you can see a bit of a champagne color shine through. This color is also very pigmented and long lasting. Last but not the least is the dark brown shade which is meant to be the liner shade. It is not as dark as the shade seems, it is more of a medium brown. It is matte and also nicely pigmented, I just wish it was darker since it is intended for lining the eyes. All these shadows are beautifully pigmented and definitely long lasting. There is no one specific way I like to use this palette, they have given great suggestions and tips but it is also very versatile so pretty much you can create lots of different looks according to your taste. Unfortunately, I cannot give much input on the concealer except that it is very thick and I have tried it on and it covers my dark circles pretty well but I could not havve it on because the shade does not match me and it looks obvious that I have concealed my under eyes. This palette costs $32 and for that price I would like for me to use up all the product given and unfortunately the concealer remains untouched since there is no reason for me to use this. That takes off major points for me other than that I would love this palette.

Overall, I really enjoy using this palette because of the lovely shadows. They are nice for everyday casual makeup and you can also change it up for night time heavy makeup just as easily. Sadly the concealer took off major points for me otherwise this could have easily gotten a good rating from me. I will not be repurchasing this for any reason whatsoever unless they come out with more concealer varieties which actually match my skin. Other than that it is just a waste to buy this palette and not use 1 out of 4 pans especially when the concealer pan is the largest one. I do not recommend this to anyone unless you are certain this color is your correct match.
