Benefit Moisturize Triple Performing Facial Emulsion Review

Benefit Moisturize Triple Performing Facial Emulsion Review

For a change, I thought I would review a skin care product today. I had never had the opportunity to try Benefit’s skin care range until recently when I bought some samples online. The following is a review of their moisturizer, or Facial Emulsion as Benefit calls it.

Where To Buy:

Benefit Cosmetics can be purchased at numerous places. You can buy it in store or online from Benefit Cosmetics, Sephora, Ulta, eBay, or Amazon.

Size:

The moisturizer comes in a glass bottle and you get 50.3 ml or 1.7 fluid ounces. It is a thick gooey consistency, so it should last a while. The sample that I am reviewing is 8.9 ml or 0.3 fluid ounces, which is perfect for travelling.

Price and Shipping:

Benefit Triple Performing Facial Emulsion costs $28.00 + tax if you purchase the full size. It is available in little kits and sets like most Benefit products. I would suggest trying one of those kits because they are usually a far better value. I find the price a bit too steep, especially for something as basic as a moisturizer, but good skin care products do run a bit on the pricey side. Shipping is never a problem from Sephora, Ulta, or Benefit Cosmetics.

My Take on Benefit Moisturize Triple Performing Facial Emulsion:

This moisturizer is part of Benefit’s Radiant skin care release. It comes in a beautiful sturdy glass bottle. It definitely does what it says – it moisturizes my skin pretty well for 4 to 5 hours, on a good skin day. I’m in love with its happy-springy-floral-sweet smell. I know most people prefer skin care stuff without fragrance, and I do too, but this smell is just so light and refreshing that I find myself liking it.

Also, the sample size does not come with a pump, but the full sized bottle does. My friend has the full sized bottle and the pump works great. It is very lightweight and non-greasy and dries to a wonderful finish.

Benefit Triple Performance Facial Emulsion 4

My biggest issue with the product is the price. I’m used to getting at least 4 fluid ounces of product for most moisturizers and this one is only 1.7 fluid ounces! I mean, it’s good and I like it, but it’s no miracle cream either.

Things I Love about Benefit Moisturize Triple Performing Facial Emulsion:

  • Lightweight without being runny.
  • Beautiful, light fragrance.
  • It dries super soon and leaves the skin looking healthy and happy.
  • It is completely non greasy.
  • It has SPF 15 PA++
  • It should be perfect for people with normal to oily skin types.

Things I Do Not Like about Benefit Moisturize Triple Performing Facial Emulsion:

  • Too expensive for the quantity.
  • It is a moisturizer, and there are several alternatives available that might be more suited to your skin type.
  • I like creams with at least SPF 30.
  • The fragrance is very pleasant and did not irritate my super sensitive skin, but it might bother others.
  • The hydration time decreases substantially if I use it after my acne medication (Adapalene gel).

IMBB Rating:

I would rate this moisturizer a 3.5/5. It is a simple moisturizer; nothing less, nothing more.

Last Thoughts:

I feel like most of us already have a moisturizer that our skin is comfortable with and used to. I don’t switch my skin care products very often, and this is no exception. I currently use an Aveeno moisturizer and I like it just fine. It’s not ideal, but it costs half of the Benefit Triple Moisture Facial Emulsion and works pretty much the same, and you get 2.5 times the product. This moisturizer (or any other for that matter) works fine if I’m having a normal skin day. I have super dry skin, that peels easily. Especially if I use any acne medication on it overnight. Then, no moisturizer in the world can prevent my skin from peeling. I have to resort to olive oil. If you have dry-flaky skin like me or use acne medication, I would skip this. Did I hate using this moisturizer? No. It was a pleasant experience. It is a great simple moisturizer that I actually enjoyed using. Will it buy it for $28 + tax? No!

Peace out! <3

  2. hey neha… very nicely written review 🙂

i am looking for a daily sunscreen for my super oily skin. actually i dont need a moisturiser. i just need a sunscreen which does NOT moisturise. hehee..!! u think i shud try this?

    1. Hi Jyoti! 🙂 If you’re only looking for sunscreen, I would skip the moisturizer step all together. I would just use a powder foundation with SPF 15 or higher 🙂 Physician’s Formula makes a compact and it has like SPF 40 or 50! 🙂 I hope that helps 🙂
