Best Facial Hair Removal Methods

Facial hair is a nightmare, the unsightly hair on the face is well “unsightly” of course.  I am listing out a few methods of removal which can give you smooth and clear face.  Also listing out products meant specifically to help you get rid of hair where it is seriously not required.

1.  Epistick/Spring Hair Remover:

This is a tool with a spring system that pulls out hair from the root and is the best option for people who don’t want to bleach or wax their face.  Its a coil/spring tool that’s around the length of a pencil with plastic handles at the ends. The spring tool is flexible and easily bends into any shape.  This spring tool needs to be formed into an “U” shape and through inward rotating movement, hair is pulled out from the area.  It works similar to threading, but hair is pulled out from its root.  Its a little painful when you are doing the upper lip, but then, you can do threading in the comfort of your home.

2.  Nair Facial Hair Removal Cream:

Upper Lip Kit gently removes unwanted facial hair from the upper lip area. The precision tip tube allows precise and easy application for effective hair removal.  Clean face, apply the cream directly on the area with hair, leave for 6 to 7 minutes, wipe it off.  Follow with rubbing ice cube over the area to reduce inflammation and apply the moisturizer provided with the cream.  This cream removes hair from the face, does not hurt.

3.  Sleek Wax Pack with Aloe Vera Facial Hair Remover:

A gentle warm wax system to remove unwanted hair quickly and safely.  Ideal for use on upper lip, chin and other facial areas.  Made of good quality wax.  Wax peels off easily.  Enriched with aloe vera.  For use, heat the katori at low temperature until the wax melts to a honey like consistency for 2-3 minutes, melt as per requirement.  Remove from flame, before applying it directly on to the face, do a patch test on your hand or leg to check consistency and temperature.  Hold the skin tight and apply the first thin coat of wax in the direction opposite to hair growth. Apply the next two coats in the direction of hair growth. In between each coat, wait for a 2-3 minutes for the wax to set. Do not apply next layer of wax until the previous layer has set.  Let the wax set and press firmly on the skin. As the wax is pliable (i.e. it can be peeled off), scratch the wax a little from one end to get a little grip. Hold the skin taut and pull back the wax against the direction of facial hair.  You will get clean and smooth skin.

4.  Andrea Visage Clair Gentle Hair Remover for the Face:

Its a depilatory cream suitable for dark and thick facial hair.  Apply a thick patch of this cream and keep it for 5 to 7 minutes.  Use the spatula given in the opposite direction of hair growth and remove the cream, the hair will come off the face without any pain or reaction.  Wash face with cold water, apply soothing cream.

5.  Olay Smooth Finish Facial Hair Removal Duo:

A specially formulated two-step system designed to gently yet effectively remove fine to medium unwanted facial hair on the upper lip and jaw line, while minimizing irritation.  Apply the skin guarding balm provided and massage for 20 seconds.  Apply hair removal cream provided, keep it for 6 to 8 minutes.  Leave on for thicker hair, do not exceed for more than 10 minutes.  After 6-8 minutes, gently remove cream with a tissue or cotton ball, do not rub excessively. Rinse skin thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat dry.

6.  Hip Hop Skin Care Facial Wax Strips:

Convenient, easiest way to get rid of unwanted hair from small areas of the face.  Contains double sided ready-to-use wax strips, no stickiness, no mess. Removes hair from the root unlike conventional wax or hair removing cream.  Can be used on upper lip, chin, forehead, cheeks. Cut the strip with scissor according to the area to be waxed.  Same strip can be used 2 to 3 times during waxing, depending on the skin types.

7.  Bleaching:

Though this is not completely a hair removal method, but bleaching dark hair to a lighter shade can help to mute their appearance on the face.  Bleaching process changes dark hair to a nice golden colour within 10 minutes flat. Generally, dark skinned/dark hair people need to keep the bleach on for more than 10 minutes.  For women who have sensitive skin, bleaching is not advised.  Even for others, doing a patch test is mandatory because bleach contains a lot of chemicals which might react badly with skin in some people.

8.  Tweezing:

You can pick stray hair on your face with tweezers, good for people who do not have much of a facial hair issue. Also, you can maintain your eyebrows with tweezers, all girls have it in their kitty, its a must1

9.  Threading:

Threading is a quick, effective, but painful method to get rid of facial hair.  You can do threading on yourself, but you can practice it for some time by watching youtube videos or by reading this detailed post on IMBB here.  Once you have mastered the technique, all you would need is a good quality thread, mirror, and you can do threading in the convenience of your home.

10. Laser/Electrolysis:
