I had picked up 2 shades from the “Color Lock” lipstick range from BH Cosmetics. I have already reviewed the shade “True Heart” and today I am reviewing the shade – Blissful. Read on to find out more about this lipstick.

My Experience with BH Cosmetics Blissful Color Lock Long Lasting Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a sleek long black plastic tube with a silver tendril-like design running over the cap. It comes packaged in a cardboard box which has a cute heart lock and key design on it. The bottom of the tube has a sticker with the name of the shade on it. The packaging is flimsy and it could have been made sturdier.
Shade/Pigmentation: With a name like “Blissful,” you would expect the lipstick to be of a soft/light shade which would have a nice calming effect on you. Unfortunately, this lipstick shade is not even that close. Blissful is a deep dark plum shade. It is a shade which is completely out of my comfort zone. You may enjoy this lipstick if dark and gothic look is your thing.
The pigmentation of the lipstick is a major disappointment. It does not give full coverage in a single swipe and you would need to swipe it multiple times to get an even finish.
Texture/Finish: The lipstick is quite dry and hard to apply on its own. You need a lip balm underneath to make the application better. The finish as promised is a matte, but I do not like how it appears dry and accentuates my lip lines.
Lasting Power: The lasting power of the lipstick is quite good and it stays put easily for 6-7 hours with some snacking/light meals. It does transfer but not too much.
As you would have guessed by now, this lipstick shade has turned out to be a dud and nothing much has worked in its favor, but do not write off this range as the other lipstick that I own – True Heart is pretty good.

- Not all of you out there would like the deep plum shade.
- Pigmentation is quite bad.
- Feels drying on the lips and a lip balm is a must.
- Accentuates lip lines.

No, there is not much to like and hence would not recommend. No, I would not repurchase.

The shade is no doubt very pretty. But the cons outweigh the pros so I will stay away from this one!
Beautiful shade, but it has some very major cons. We need to be very careful about quality especially when the shade is this dark!
