I had never thought that one day I would be buying an eye shadow palette. I usually have mono eye shadows and IMBB gave me that confidence to try more! I bought 120 Eyeshadow Second Edition palette from BH Cosmetics through the sponsor scheme, and today’s review is all about BH Cosmetics Second Edition – 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette. My Experience with BH Cosmetics Second Edition – 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette:
The palette comes in a cardboard packaging. The eye shadows come in a black sturdy case. It has a lock mechanism and you can click on it to open, which is a plus as it makes the product travel-friendly. The palette also has a mirror which makes it easier to use. There are 2 plates with 60 shades each. The top plate can be easily removed and whenever I use them I feel like a makeup artist! The palette is travel-friendly but is a bit bulky. The palette doesn’t have a brush.
There are 120 shades in the palette. The 2nd Edition is a mix of bright and neutral colors and has a range of metallic, shimmer and matte shades. I selected this palette because I wanted to try some bright colors. There is a variation of the shades in the palette. There is a weird smell to the colors and I am not a fan of it. Tray 1 consists of shades of browns, blues, green, pinks and yellows and has the brighter colors of the palette. Tray 2 is dominated by neutral browns, reds, and greens. The palette consists of white shade which can be used as a base and with which the colors can be built up. There are also variations of black and can be used to create a perfect smokey eye.
The pigmentation of the eye shadows is amazing. They are deeply pigmented and one swatch can help you build up enough color on the eye. They are also easily blend-able but do fade away when blending. The shades have a powdery texture and they crumble and mess the sides when you try to pick up the product. However, the shades are very creamy and soft. The shimmery ones are creamier and it feels like a creamy eye shadow than a powdery one.
The product does have a lot of fallout, so the eye makeup has to be done first. If not, due to its pigmentation it can stain when you try to rub off the excess. The colors are easily blendable and buildable. You can also mix a few colors to create a unique shade of your choice.
The staying power of the colors varies according to the shades. The shimmery creamy ones stay for more than 4-5 hours and the powdery ones stay for around 3-4 hours. With a primer, the staying power increases and the darker shades have remained on my eyes for around 6-8 hours.
The palette offers a wide variety of shades to experiment and bring out the creativity in you. I love the palette and for the number of shades it offers, I would recommend it to anyone as it is also easily affordable. So, summing up!
