After reviewing 2 shades from the Crème Luxe lipstick range from BH Cosmetics, I am back with a new range – the BH Cosmetics Color Lock Lipstick and the shade that I am reviewing today is True Heart. Read on to find out more about this lipstick.

My Experience with BH Cosmetics True Heart Color Lock Long Lasting Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a sleek long black plastic tube with a silver tendril-like design running over the cap. It comes packaged in a cardboard box which has a cute heart lock and key design on it. The bottom of the tube has a sticker with the name of the shade on it. Somehow, I felt that the packaging feels a little flimsy and could be made sturdier.
Shade/Pigmentation: True Heart is a bright cherry red shade. It is a deep shade and hence would be apt for a party or some festive occasion. It might not be an everyday shade but it sure does lift your face and adds a brightness to it. The lipstick is fairly pigmented and one swipe is enough to cover the lips. I personally like swiping it twice to give a better finish.
Texture/Finish: This is a matte lipstick and like most matte lipsticks, it is not super-creamy. You need slight pressure to apply it on the lips but you don’t need to drag it or anything like that. The finish as promised is a beautiful matte. I love that it doesn’t look flat or dry like some matte lipsticks do soon after application, but it does start feeling a little dry as time passes. I would recommend applying a lip balm prior to the application. The lipstick does not accentuate any lip lines.
Lasting Power: The lasting power of the lipstick is quite good and it stays put easily for 6-7 hours with some snacking/light meals. It does transfer but not too much.
To summarize, this is a beautiful red lipstick with a long-lasting formula and a matte finish. And to top it, it comes at a very affordable price.
