Today I picked up Bharat and Dorris two way cake which is basically a pressed powder foundation which can be used in two ways wet and dry. Wet for more coverage and dry for less coverage. After trying their cream foundation I want ahead and bought this one. As that cream foundation I use it as concealer on a daily basis, rather than a foundation as I don’t need that much coverage.

What Bharat & Dorris say:

For medium to full coverage, our two way cake can be used both wet and dry as per the coverage preference. The powder is soft and finely milled to give a flawless look to the face.

My experience with Bharat & Dorris Two Way Cake in 02:

This product seemed to me like Mac studio fix powder plus foundation. I have not owned it but when I bought a blush from MAC, the SA went ahead and applied it on my face, and I liked the coverage a lot. This does not have that much coverage. But at the same time it does not look that cakey as well. The shade selection is pretty good. The same I have is 02, but I feel it leans towards orange and not towards my skin’s undertones i.e. yellow.

I have used it both ways. But when applied wet it definitely looked more cakey as compared to the dry application. And it does provide full coverage when applied wet, but I prefer the dry application. And that is more of a medium coverage which is ok for me. The packaging is simple and sleek. It comes in a round pan, with a sponge with it. The sponge needs to be kept below the powder which is a good thing. But I once dropped it mistakenly and it broke. And now I no more carry it outside but just use it at home before I go.

One can apply it with the sponge provided for a more full coverage and with a brush for a sheer coverage. I like the sponge it is very soft and not by any means flimsy and applies the product well. It controls oil for 2-3 hrs, after that my skin becomes oily in t-zone and oxidizes a bit. But that happens with all the powders. I last for abound 4 hours on my oily skin and with a primer for around 6 hours.

Recommendation– If you are looking for a medium coverage powder foundation, then I suggest give it a try.
