Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream SPF 50+ Review

Skin Type:  Normal-dry

I was bored of my regular moisturiser (Cetaphil) and was looking for something more advanced. After a little research, I came across this Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream. It claims to offer skin benefits along with high sun protection. Let’s see how it worked for me.

Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream SPF 50+ Review

Price:
INR 1485 for 30 ml.
Product Description:
Photoderm Spot contains glabridin: derived from a licorice extract, this molecule is known to biologically inhibit tyrosinase, a key enzyme in melanogenesis. Since melanin production is slowed down, Photoderm SPOT prevents pigmentation marks and the hyperpigmentation of scars. Moreover, in addition to its surface UVA/UVB protective activity (filtering systems), Photoderm SPOT offers real internal biological protection: Cellular Bioprotection™.
This exclusive patent preserves and stimulates the skin’s defences (immunity) during sun exposure.

My Experience with Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream SPF 50+:

It comes in a handy tube packaging. I feel it is easy to use. I can carry it in my purse when I go out or in my suitcase when I travel. I find it travel-friendly. It dispenses the product easily. I don’t have any complaints with the packaging. This 30 ml cream costs INR 1485. It is a little expensive but one tube lasts pretty long even if you apply this cream twice a day. And then, dermo-cosmetics anyway cost pretty high.

Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream details at the back

The cream is white in color and has a lightweight consistency. The texture is easily blendable and it just melts into the skin. It gets easily absorbed and does not leave any white cast behind. The product offers high sun protection but it is not heavy like other sunscreens. It feels so comfortable even in this humid weather. It does not clog my pores and does not make my skin sweat like crazy.

I usually avoid moisturisers in summers and monsoon but it leads to dry patches on my cheeks. This one has proven to be a good moisturiser that feels almost weightless. Even though it comes with SPF 50+, it does not make my skin look odd in pictures. Just after application, it gives a bright look to my face. My skin looks healthy and glowy right after application.

The long term results are pretty amazing, too. I have seen reduction in pigmentation with regular usage of this product. There is no redness and spots are fading too. I got a few pimples around my periods and they left marks on my face, but they have already started to fade now. I have worn it out many times and it has prevented my skin from getting tanned.

Bioderma Photoderm Spot Cream swatch on hand

I feel this product is apt for all skin types, except oily skin, and will work in all seasons. This cream has really improved my skin. I apply it twice daily even when I am indoors. It does not make my skin feel stretchy in AC room or sweaty when I go out. I am very impressed with this cream. It does almost everything it claims.

I used to think Cetaphil will always be my HG face cream but I was so wrong. This stuff is amazing as it offers both short and long-term benefits. I have really seen my skin changing and becoming healthier. The changes might not be drastic but yes it feels and looks better now. Hyperpigmentation and scars will take some time to go away but I am sure they will eventually disappear because of the goodness of this cream.

  1. Nice Review, Thanks Shikha,
Seems like a good skin care cream for pigmentation issues wth spf50 protection. Will give it a try.
