Biotique Apricot Body Gel Review

Biotique Apricot Body Gel Review

I have always had clean experiences with Biotique products. They either suit me very well or disappoint me completely. There is no in-between at all 🙂

One of the first products I’ve tried from Biotique is this Apricot Body Gel and I immediately fell in love with it.

Price and quantity:
INR 180 for 210ml.

Here is what biotique.com says about the product

100% SOAP free Body Rinse:- A soothing, refreshing bath gel containing Apricot Kernel Oil, wild Turmeric, Turmeric, Kurchi and Soap Nut. It is an excellent alternative for soap.

About Apricot Kernel Oil:

Apricot kernel oil is well suited to skin care, and is often used as a carrier oil. Carrier oils are used as a base for aromatherapy mixtures, or are mixed with other oils to help them spread. Because apricot kernel oil is readily absorbed into the skin without leaving an oily residue behind, it is an excellent choice of carrier oil for all skin types. The ready absorption also makes it a good choice of skin care product for people with dry skin, while the gentleness of apricot kernel oil makes it mild enough to use on the elderly.

For skin nutrition, apricot kernel oil contains the essential fatty acids oleic and linoleic acid. It is also high in vitamins A and E. All of these substances can help to sooth irritated skin while also moisturizing. Regular applications of apricot kernel oil or products containing it can keep skin smooth and flexible. Apricot kernel oil is also used in lotions, creams, and balms, as well as in soaps. It is frequently used in massage oils as well.

I’ve dry skin and in winters soaps make it even worse. And this shower gel comes to my rescue. As you can make out from the ingredient list it is mainly based of oils so it helps a little in keeping the skin moisturized. But one big advantage of this is even though it has oil it is not at all heavy. I could comfortably use it during summer too. That again might be because I have dry skin. People with oily skin may try this gel during winter alone.

This golden honey colored gel has a runny consistency. You can use it with or without a loofah and you need just a small amount every time. It leaves you feeling really clean and refreshing – neither oily nor stretchy. The fragrance is also mild and fruity.

The ingredient list looks very promising.

The good part about Biotique Apricot Body Gel :

• Reetha is the one which makes the product lather well. So I’m guessing that it doesn’t have any hidden SLS/SLES.
• The gel is not very heavy or difficult to wash off.
• The fragrance is mild and refreshing.
• It moisturizes to an extent.
• A small quantity is needed every time so it lasts for a quite some time.
• Since my skin is dry it suits me during summer too.
• No stretchy feeling or irritation.
• No soap content.
• Price and quantity are decent.
• Not tested on animals.
• Transparent bottle.
• Easily available.

The not so good part of Biotique Apricot Body Gel :

• The cap. It is like that of a cough syrup . Every time I use it I’m worried that I’ll take more than what is needed.
cap
• The fragrance doesn’t stay for long.
• Not for people with oily skin especially during summers.
• Though not a con, one cannot totally do away with a moisturizer.

Rating: 4/5 (1 point less for all the cons put together)

Will I buy it again: Yes. I love experimenting with shower gels but this will always be there with me.

Finally, here is a happy bubble for you.
