Hi dear IMBBans!
How are you all? Hope you all are enjoying monsoon showers. The sun may not be as harsh as it was in summers, but we still need protection from it on cloudy days as well. That’s why I have shifted to SPF 25 for rainy days. From the last few months, I am trying to buy more of herbal and chemical free beauty products. On one of my visits to a store I saw a Biotique counter. My mom uses a few products from Biotique and always suggests me to go herbal with such products. Let’s see how this one turned out for me.
This nutrient-rich lotion is blended with pure carrot oil, extracts of carrot seed and lodhra bark, quince seed and aloe vera to keep skin soft, fair and moisturized in the sun. Protects skin with broad spectrum SPF 25 UVA/UVB sunscreen.

My Experience with Biotique Bio Carrot Face and Body Sun Lotion SPF 25 UVA/UVB Sunscreen:
This is my first ever purchase from Biotique. Honestly speaking, apart from few brands, I really doubt whether a particular brand is chemical free or not. I have read mixed reviews about Biotique products on IMBB. Anyhow, I gave it a try! This one comes in a light orange coloured tube pack with green flip open cap. I have noticed that Biotique products have boring packaging and they are not at all travel friendly. Compared to those, this tube pack is really good and easy to carry in handbags.
The lotion is off white in colour and creamy in texture. The product is runny in consistency and one should be careful while squeezing it. The amount shown in swatch is sufficient to apply on one arm. It has a nice herbal fragrance which stays for sometime. It takes a while to get absorbed into the skin. But, the good thing is that it doesn’t leave any white cast or oily sheen on the skin. So, if you are applying it as a base you have to wait for a few minutes to get it settled. It moisturises the skin very well so no need to apply a moisturiser.
It doesn’t even out the skin tone. But, it never claimed to do so, it’s fine with me. The thing I didn’t like is that I could feel that I have applied something on my face. There was no stickiness, but I guess the lotion is little heavy to use on face. My skin didn’t get tanned after using this and also it didn’t breakout my facial skin. I didn’t have much expectation from this so I am not disappointed. It never made any big claims. It is just a moisturising sunscreen and works well on that part. You have to reapply it after 4-5 hours if you are going to spend whole day in the sun. I have been using it for over a month and have finished the tube. I am still looking for a good sunscreen which is feels light on skin.
