Biotique Bio Kelp Fresh Growth Protein Shampoo Review

The heading suggests I must have bought this shampoo for hair growth 😀 .No, I haven’t. No shampoo can ever do that, such claims are highly exaggerating and false. Some of the Biotique products have really worked well for me. So my Elder sister gifted me this shampoo along with its conditioner Bio Sea Kelp (will review soon) few months back. So sab kuch FREE mein mila! 😀 I know many of you have lost their faith in Biotique products. I swear by their face packs but I dislike their range of shampoos with same intensity. 😀

My Experience:
After having disastrous experience with Biotique Heena shampoo, (I had severe hairfall and horrible scalp bumps) I was quite apprehensive to use any other shampoos from this brand. But as I got this as a gift, so decided to give it a try after seeing the ingredients list. This is the only shampoo from Biotique that doesn’t contain SLS. When I first used this shampoo, I found its fragrance to be a bit odd. It smells of raw green mangoes :yelo: with a hint of menthol. It doesn’t lather pretty well too. However my hair was squeaky clean when I diluted the shampoo with water and then applied. It gives my hair a shiny appearance. It has cooling effect on scalp, which is the best part of the shampoo. :jiggy1:

• Am tired of hearing this claim of so called ‘Intensive hair growth treatment’ from popular shampoo brands.

Will I Repurchase?
Yes, only during summers for the cooling effect on my scalp. Otherwise, am happy with my HG Papaya Shampoo.
Rating: 3
Overall Recommendation: You can buy it for the refreshing and cooling effect of this shampoo during summers. But I am not sure on the hairfall part, didn’t cause hairfall in my case but can cause in your case.

    1. I have stopped using too, the above shampoo was my last 😆 but it feels very cooling on scalp, except fragrance, god knows what they were thinking. :yuck:

  1. hey i hate this shampoo, though i love skin care creams of biotique. i have silky shiny hair and they turned coarse after using this.

    1. I just like facial packs from biotique and papaya scrub and watercress hair salad conditioner, except that, nothing is good.

  2. good review girl….

somehow biotique shampoos have never really worked for me… i have tried green apple, walnut bark and another one with reetha ( i don’t recllect the name) and all were terrible to my hair… my mum loved all of them though and they worked wonderfully well for her…

i hate it when shampoos don’t lather… feels like the scalp isn;t clean…

    1. I used heena shamoo from biotique and lost all my hair!It was mental harassment ! :yikes: But now alls good.

    1. Kelp indeed helps in hair growth, its pack when used regularly aides in hair growth, but shampoo form, it stays hardly 2 minutes on scalp, how can it promote growth? its only 2% or something, false claims!

  5. i have this Tapaswini….. this is the only one that doesn’t cause me any hairfall…. so i’m sticking on to it till i find a better one….. to me it smells lilke clinic plus 🙂 how is that papaya shampoo of yours….. review it some time 🙂

    1. Papaya shampoo is the best,so conditioning that i feel lazy to use conditioner after that ! 😀

  6. Used this some time ago and it doesn’t do anything. All the Biotique hair products that I have tried have been useless for me. They don’t work for me.

          1. hey Tapaswini…I bought the watercress conditioner after reading your review only and I loved it 🙂 its a lot watery and a little difficult to apply but the results are great…it makes the hair shiny and so soft!!! but it takes little time to get used to the conditioner…

            1. Am really glad Swati you liked it, and yes it takes a bit time to get used to the conditioner, I am liking them a lot, and cant think of any other conditioner except that ! :)) :high5:
