I had never tried a high SPF sunscreen before this one from Biotique – Bio Sandalwood 75+SPF UVA/UVB Sunscreen. I try to avoid them only because of my oily skin. Most high SPF sunscreen make my skin too oily. And they contain lots of chemicals too. I picked up this ultra soothing face lotion sunscreen based on the name and claims of Ayurveda.

This nutrient-rich lotion is blended with pure sandalwood, saffron, wheat germ, honey and bark of the arjun tree to keep skin soft, fair and moisturized. Protects skin with broad spectrum SPF 75 UVA/UVB sunscreen. Very water resistant retains SPF after 80 minutes in the water.
Organically Pure &Preservative Free. Dermatologist Tested For Safety. No Animal Testing.
How to Use: Apply liberally before sun exposure. Reapply, as needed, after swimming or perspiring activities. Helps reduce the risk of skin aging, skin cancer and other harmful effects of the sun.

My Experience with Biotique Bio Sandalwood Face & Body Sun Lotion SPF75 UVA/UVB Sunscreen:
Biotique Bio Sandalwood Sunscreen comes with a yellow tube packaging with a green flip-top cap. Packaging has been improved over the other Biotique sunscreen packaging earlier. Cap is totally leakage-proof. Like it!! This is a sandalwood sunscreen so it smells strongly of sandal, not like the other medicated smelling sunscreens. This smells herbal, very pleasant and attractive. The scent stays for a good time as well.
Texture of this sunscreen is neither runny nor thick. It is pretty light-textured lotion that blends easily on the face. It gets fully absorbed into the skin. You can also use this as a hand lotion. It spreads easily on the hands also. The color of this sunscreen is light skin-color kind of shade. It gives a very sheer kind of coverage too. On my oily skin, it gives a tanned glow finish. It claims that it is meant for all skin types which is a plus!
This is a light lotion; when I first tried it on my hands, I thought that it might be oily for my face. But it gets totally absorbed into my face. It has a very smooth soft finish. It acts as moisturizer as well. I don’t feel any stickiness after applying this. My skin looks healthier. I have oily skin so after a few hours, it feels a little oily on my T-zone. Otherwise it does feel oily like other high protection sunscreen. It doesn’t provide a matte finish but not too grassy also.
I think this would work great for normal to dry skin types But I still love this product for this rainy season. Most probably, I will try to skip this in very hot summer days. Apart from summer, it works great for all other seasons for all skin types. It has a water-resistant quality that makes my skin fresh-looking all day long. The product claims that it retains SPF even after 80 minutes in the water which sounds good. I have tested it out in this monsoon too.
I need to apply a translucent powder to avoid the oily feeling, because I always like matte finish for my skin. It doesn’t make me sweat in this season. Recently in the Kolkata monsoon weather, it is working well. Usually I do sweat a lot on my face, but this lotion is kind of matte and would not let me sweat. So it’s a skin friendly product within my budget.
And the last word – protection of this sunscreen is amazing. I can’t imagine that a sunscreen with 75+ SPF is costing me only 200 bucks. All the ingredients are natural and good for the skin as per claims. I like to use this face lotion on a regular basis. I don’t prefer sticky and thick sunscreens so it has done a great job for me. It makes my skin very soft and feels soothing. I love to touch my skin after applying it. I need to reapply it after a few hours like most suns lotions.
I could see no PA +++. Currently, I have no tan on my skin so can’t say that this sunscreen can repair or prevent the tan due to the PA lacking. If you like a non-sticky non-greasy sunscreen this is a good one to have.

• Act as a good moisturizer also.
• Doesn’t feel oily after application.
Cons of Biotique Bio Sandalwood Face & Body Sun Lotion SPF75 UVA/UVB Sunscreen:
• Not great for too oily skin in hot summer.
• It has High SPF (75+) but no PA+.
• Need to reapply often.
• Makes my T-zone little oily after few hours during the monsoon. So need to apply a powder after using it.

Yes, Definitely. I think it works great for me in non-summers.
