Boutique Walnut Skin Polisher

Biotique walnut skin polisher is a deep impurity and dead cell remover from biotique aimed at polishing skin and getting rid of blackheads and whiteheads. The product is described as ideal to be used on normal to dry skin. Major Ingredients:

  • Walnut Oil – helps in moisturizing and polishing skin.
  • Neem – used to soothe irritated skin.
  • Mint – has anti-inflammatory properties, hence helps to purify skin and ward off skin infections

What does the product claim to do?

  • A unique face and neck deep cleanser. Contains Walnut Oil, which is Rich in Vitamin A and Lecithin along with extracts of Neem, Mint, Fenugreek and Red Sandalwood. Refines skin and fades tiny lines leaving skin fresher and younger looking.
  • A creamy texture, gentle exfoliating cream for the face and neck. It deep cleases the skin and removes all the dead surface cells thus allowing better penetration of active ingredients for maximum efficiency of the following treatment.
  • The Walnut Skin Polisher provides you a bright and luminous complexion with a velvety touch.

Price: Rs.180 for 60gm. What I think of it:

  • I have initially tried papaya scrub from biotique and loved it to bits. The SA told me walnut skin polisher was also an exfoliator that was not as aggressive and abrasive in texture as the papaya scrub (already reviewed on IMBB). So I decided I would give this a shot.

Biotique Walnut Polisher

  • The scrub is white in colour with very tiny brown particles for exfoliation. The texture is much creamier compared to that of the papaya scrub.

Biotique Walnut Skin Polisher

  • Smells really herbal and very natural. I love the smell though.

How do I use this?

  • Wet face evenly and apply it. The product is directed to be used on clean dry skin, but I would never apply any scrub/exfoliator without wetting my skin at least a little bit. Makes me feel I am respecting my skin a bitΒ  πŸ™‚ rather than just slathering it on.
  • Like any other scrub, I gently exfoliate this concentrating more on the tip of my nose, chin and forehead. Since the beads are really gentle I think this can be used every day. That is just a thought; I haven’t tried using it every day since my skin leans towards the drier side.

Biotique Walnut Skin Polisher

  • Although the papaya scrub says it’s to be used as a 7 day scrub, I find it a little coarse in texture for everyday use. This is a much milder version of the same. People with dry skin might not want to use it every day (although it says it’s for dry skin). For that matter, I would never use any scrub daily. I use it about once or twice a week that’s all.
  • If time permits, I massage it on my face and leave it on for 10 minutes before washing. This gives me better results as opposed to just scrubbing and washing.
  • Really softens skin. In my opinion, the extent of exfoliation is much lesser compared to that of the papaya scrub since it has much smaller granules. But the result is still fine. Gets rid of most of the dead skin around my nose and cheeks and polishes skin very well.

What I like about this:

  • Mild and creamy so it doesn’t strip skin of its moisture content and also the beads are much less grainer.
  • Polishes skin pretty well.
  • Softens skin to a good extent.
  • Smells veryΒ  natural. I am sure the product does contain some form of preservatives since the shelf life is around 2 years. πŸ™‚
  • Pretty affordable. The 60gm tub lasts more than 2-3 months with twice per week usage.

What I don’t like about this:

  • Doesn’t really remove blackheads and white heads.
  • The packaging is a little annoying since it’s difficult to get product out once we finish half of it.

Will I re-purchase this? Maybe. But not before trying other scrubs.

IMBB Rating: :-* :-*:-*:-*

This one is not a love yet, but I still like it.Β  If you are looking for a good scrub/exfoliator which softens and polishes then give this a shot. I am not promising anything with respect to blackheads or whiteheads. Did not see much of a difference though . πŸ™‚ But it sure removes all the dead flaky skin.

Have you tried Bio Walnut? Do you like it?

  1. That looks like a great body scrub. It looks like the Himalaya walnut scrub to a great extent but this one has mint and neem also I guess this would be more effective. πŸ™‚

I am going to pick up TBS body scrub one of these days. Have you used that?

Glad it worked so well for you. πŸ™‚

    1. Yeah I have tried TBS’s body scrubs….loved the cocoa butter one…oh my god…it was aweeeesome…I tried raspberry too but liked cocoa butter better…next am gonna try shea…heard its good too πŸ™‚

  2. plus a note- i have dry skin but exfoliate my skin daily. otherwise i look like a ball of skin. sorry for the disturbing picture but that’s just how it is. proper exfoliation is a dry skinned person’s best friend.
.-= Rima Kaur´s last blog ..Beneath The Smiles =-.

    1. Hey Rima….this does not come in a tube form πŸ™ even I would have preferred it that way…but with this one, the tub does not dry out fast…its pretty creamy so lasts a while πŸ™‚
and yeah, u r right…exfoliation is the key…I have combi/dry skin and i exfoliate about 2-3 times a week…beyond that I am scared if it’ll strip my skin of moisture πŸ™

        1. hmmm…that’s nice πŸ™‚ …I ve never tried anythin from Jovees…dunno y i never felt like picking up anything at all from that line πŸ™

  3. Nice review Appu. My favorite part about Biotique products is their smell! You’re so lucky you can use scrubs on your face……

    1. Thanks Devika πŸ™‚ Agreed they smell real nice πŸ™‚ but most of them smell almost the same! πŸ™‚ do u not use scrubs on your face? wats ur skin type?

      1. ACNE PRONE….
I use Origins Modern Friction once in a blue moon, but usually stay away from heavy exfoliation…i miss the days before I turned 16 and could liberally use apricot/walnut scrub on my face! :weep:

        1. I’ve heard rave reviews about the Neutogena Pink grapefruit oil free acne range…the scrub is awesome i heard…I had backne sometime back and used the face wash from their range on my back…body wash was out of stock so face wash…it worked like a charm πŸ™‚ (touch wood πŸ™‚ )

          1. Cool .. Am waiting to try Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Srcub, tried the regular Neutrogena body wash works well for me. Nice review πŸ™‚

  4. Hey nice review but I cannot use this since I have oily skin. I like the current scrub that I’m using but now I’m curious about Neutogena Pink grapefruit. Can you tell me where I can get it?

    1. Thanks Priya πŸ™‚ I am not sure if Neutrogena pink grapefruit has been launched in India as yet…don think so πŸ™ …its available in the US though πŸ™‚ The neutrogena normal variety also has an acne scrub which is also oil free…hope that helps πŸ™‚

  5. Nice review appu and tempted to try this…the only thing that puts me off biotique products is the packaging…I wud hv liked it if they brought in some variety in their packaging

    1. Thanks HD πŸ™‚ me too wants a change in the packaging πŸ™ other than that I think the products are good πŸ™‚

  6. i too use this scrub and it feels littile harsh for daily use.so i use it twice or thrice a week.i also tried 2 use lotus apricot scrub but when i used it on my body, it felt really abrasive and the palm of my hand got cutsbcoz of its granules.but this 1 is nice & i m liking it.thx 4 the review.bye

    1. Oh no Ritu, cuts on ur hand because of a scrub! That must’ve been one hell of a scrub πŸ™ glad this one works for you πŸ™‚

      1. u too don’t ever try lotus scrub 4 face.it is ok for body. i m using it but lightly.i think i got cuts since the skin of my palm is so thin & soft.but just think if it can cause cuts on palm & how harsh will it be for face.

        1. Oh wil never try that one for my face…mayb we can use it for cracked heels since its sooo harsh nah? πŸ™‚

    1. Hmmm….yeah this shud be a good option for sensitive skin since it’s a cream base and the granules are also smaller right?

  7. I used the walnut scrub earlier….it was amazing…right now using papaya scrub and hate it coz of the harshness…it probably needs to be mixed in something and only then can it be used πŸ™

  8. I have just started swimming 😐 …could anybody suggest me any product which could help me from tanning πŸ˜• …i am using Biotique Red Sandalwood sun screen with spf 50..but, still skin is getting darker :struggle: …I do use Biotique papya scrub and mud pack ones in a week….is there any cream which i used use after swimming or any cleanser which could take away chlorine from the skin….my sister marriage is in another 15 days…i dont want to look darkest in the marriage πŸ™„

  9. Hey Appu good that I read your review..was getting confused between papaya and walnut scrub.. since I have combi skin I would go in for this one πŸ™‚ :thanks: :thanks:

  10. As far as the negatives I’d like to mention that scrubs aren’t meant to remove black heads or white heads. If that is what you need then I recommend a professional facial with extractions or use to drying masks that help to pull debris from the skin. Scrubs are manual exfoliaters that only remove the top layers of the stratum corneun (epidermis). Second, I would always recommend using a clean spatula to remove any products from jars. Neve use your fingers as you could contaminate it and put bacteria into the product. Using a spatula will also make it easier to get the right amount of product out.
