Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Beetroot Review

Hello gorgeous gals!

It has been a really long time since I reviewed a bullet lipstick. The last one that I reviewed was Tom Ford’s Ashton. Today’s review is on a Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipstick. I tried this line quite some time back, I am yet to review the shades that I have, will try to do asap. This one is the latest addition to my collection. Let’s find out how it performs on my lipstick barometer!

Packaging:
The packaging is fairly simplistic and yet distinctive. This lipstick comes in a charcoal grey rubberised packaging. The cap has a lip cut into it – which makes it distinct. The bullet has the normal roll-up mechanism with the cap locking in securely. The bullet comes packaged in a cardboard box which again is distinctive. The bullet itself is fairly light weight and easy to travel with.

My Experience with Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Beetroot:

Color: “Beetroot” screams FALL. Described as a “bold berry” shade, it is a medum to dark reddish berry shade. It’s extremely bold and attention seeking. I wore such a shade after a fairly long time. This is the kind of shade which allows you to go easy on the eyes as it hogs all attention. I do see myself wearing this more often as the temperature starts dropping over the next couple of months.

Texture: The texture of the lipstick is quite different from what I’ve tried earlier. It is creamy and gives a glossy finish to the lips – and yet the lipstick doesn’t seem to “glide” on – which normally a creamy lipstick would. I’m not saying that the lipstick is dry. I am also not saying that the texture is bad. It is just different. The texture is fairly lightweight and creamy, but it doesn’t settle into the lip lines. Something about the texture (while applying) makes it difficult for me to apply this with smooth outer lines. I always feel the need to line my lips to get a clear lip line. Post application, feel of the lipstick is extremely comfortable and somewhat hydrating. Your lips do feel better off than they were before the application. One last thing – being creamy, it does transfer.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation on this is insane!! The lipstick is super pigmented. And this gets to be a cause of concern for me – especially the coupled with the fact that it doesn’t glide on my lips. So, when the shade is this deep and the lipstick is this insanely pigmented, you cannot afford sloppy application. You have to either use a lip liner or lip brush or have loads of patience to get a good clean outer line.

Lasting Power: Considering the intense pigmentation that this lipstick has, it should come as no surprise that the lipstick lasts pretty much the whole day. The first time I used it, I had Chinese Buffet for lunch (think umpteen bowls of soup for which there is no decent way of eating without smudging your lipstick)! – the lipstick stood its ground. Yes, there was slight fading in the middle of the lower lip – but that’s about it. It did not look bad, it did not disappear and it definitely didn’t turn patchy. It just stayed put. And the best part – it stains. I know some people do not like lipsticks which stain. I kind of do. So, even when at the end of the day, the lipstick starts fading, the stain still remains and gives you a put together look.

IMBB Rating:
4.5/5.
Despite my challenges with the application, I do like the formula. I enjoy wearing this shade and find the texture agreeable. I would have loved to pick up a handful of shades from this line. However, my “no-buy” rule for lipsticks kind of prevents me from doing that.

Definitely recommend!!!
