Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Sour Cherry Review

Hello gorgeous gals,

Here’s another Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick review coming your way. I have reviewed the shade “Beetroot” and “Jam” for you earlier. Today’s review is on “Sour Cherry.” Are all the lipsticks from Bite food-inspired?? Hmmm….didn’t think about this earlier, but it definitely seems so. I kind of enjoyed the previous two shades that I have tried, now let’s see how this “Sour Cherry” performed.

Price:
$26 for 4.35 gm.

Packaging:
The packaging is fairly simplistic and yet distinctive. The lipstick comes in a charcoal grey rubberised packaging. The cap has a lip cut into it – which makes it distinct. The bullet itself has the normal roll-up mechanism with the cap locking in securely. The lipstick comes packaged in a cardboard box which again is distinctive. The casing does not add much weight tot he lipstick – it is light and easy to travel with.

My Experience with Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Sour Cherry:

Color: The shade “Sour Cherry – described as “maraschino red” is a gorgeous medium cool-toned red in a satin finish. The shade is kind of muted. So, while it is a cool toned red – it still doesn’t feel too in-your-face, like say, a MAC Ruby Woo. The shade coupled with the texture makes it easy to carry off. It has a kind of glistening effect on lips which makes it look quite flattering.

Texture: The texture of the lipstick is quite in line with the previous shades that I have tried from this line. While the texture post application is creamy with almost a glossy effect, the texture while applying feels a bit stiff. It isn’t stiff that it feels dry while applying or that it applies patchy, but the lipstick doesn’t glide as smoothly as you would expect a lipstick with this type of look (creamy/glossy) to apply. It feels as if the texture is dense and there is a bit of lag between the lipstick gliding over the lips and the product warming up with the heat of the body and becoming more creamy with the glossed-over effect. Something about the lipstick texture makes it difficult for me to line the lips – despite the bullet having the traditional design. In the LOTD, I finally decided to line my lips with a lip brush. Post application, the feel of the lipstick is extremely comfortable and somewhat hydrating. Your lips do feel better off than they were before the application. Being creamy, it does transfer. However, it is so richly pigmented that the colour is still mostly there.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation on this too is excellent – it is rich and opaque. It is super pigmented. The rich pigmentation ensures you get excellent wear because even with eating or sipping through the day, the intensity of the shade may slightly dim, but it is still very much there. The pigmentation does cause me concern while applying. i have to either use a lip liner or lip brush to get even and clean outer lines.

Lasting Power: Considering the intense pigmentation that this lipstick has, it should come as no surprise that the lipstick lasts pretty much the whole day. The intensity of the shade does dim slightly, but it does to look bad as it does not get patchy or start bleeding. It just stays put. And the best part – the eminent stain it leaves. I know some people do not like lipsticks which stain, I kind of do. So, even when at the end of the day, the lipstick starts fading, the stain still remains and gives you a put together look.

Pros of Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Sour Cherry:

  • Gorgeous pink-toned red lipstick.
  • Insanely pigmented.
  • Lightweight texture.
  • Mildly hydrating.
  • Food-grade ingredients.
  • Glossy finish without being too thin or sinking into fine lines of the lips.
  • Opaque coverage.
  • No feathering or bleeding.
  • Distinctive, light packaging – easy to travel with.
  • Cruelty free.
  • Free from parabens.

Cons of Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick Sour Cherry:

  • Slightly difficult to apply around the lip lines as the lipstick does not glide on easily despite being creamy.

IMBB Rating:
A 4.5/5 product.

Bite lipsticks are fairly revolutionary. From the basic premise of the brand – a lipstick made with food-grade ingredients – to the excellent quality that they are, I feel it is a brand worth trying and recommending. I do love this formula and would love to have more shades from this range. I do recommend this shade and this formula to you. I think this one in particular would make for a nice and “easy to carry red lip” for Christmas!!
