Bite Beauty BB For Lips – Tawny Review

Hope everything is fine and cheerful around you! How are winters treating you so far? It’s getting colder here as well and I am all excited to slip on my boots and woolen outfits’ yay! Needless to say, winters are the best season for styling and fashion sense, isn’t it? However, we do need to take extra care of our skin during winters so as to look youthful and glowing at the same time. My winter skin care and grooming essential list is ready and today I am here to share one of the winter care essential products for our soft lips. It is none another than Bite Beauty’s new product, a BB for lips; we have heard BB for face but Bite beauty launched their BB product for lips aren’t amazing? As of now they are available in five gorgeous but subtle shades i.e. Flush (a light pink), Natural (clear), Suede (light pink brown), Dolce (deep purple) and Tawny (dusty pink).  I picked their Tawny shade, a dusty pink balm as I am more into deeper shades unlike other light/clear shades.  Let’s read on further to know more about this BB for lips.

Packaging:

This soft and balmy textured BB lip product comes in a retractable metallic bullet packaging which looks ultimate and very classy unlike any other regular balm packaging. It does have a faint fruity smell and sweet taste.
Overall, it’s an eye-catching, classy and travel-friendly packaging.

My Experience with Bite Beauty BB For Lips – Tawny:

The website says it is a “five in one” lip enhancing balm which protects, primes, repairs and hydrates with a flush of color on lips. And I can say that it does what it claims to do, so up to a great extent except the color pay off which is too light to be worn alone, especially in winters. I mean excluding this Tawny, Dolce, and and all other shades provide sheer coverage on our lips which might be a deal breaker for beauties interested in intense pigmentation.  I also feel this balm may be tricky for beauties with pigmented lips since these are too sheer to conceal deeply pigmented skin.

The shade “Tawny” is a perfect balance of brown and pink shades in one balm which gives wearable color pay off on my lips along with glossy and healthy sheen which stays put for decent hours. It does minimize fine lines and light dry patches off my lips apart from giving boost of hydration and smooth skin. However, I feel it is too glossy to enhance wear time of any lip product except a few matte and lip stains. Yes gals, it primes my lips really well and I can notice the plump effect on my lips, but it cannot be used beneath any creamy or semi-matte lipsticks sadly. It only works with stubborn matte and lip stains for good hours, it would not enhance their wear time though.

Even the staying power is quite average, this particular shade stays for decent 3-4 hours on its own while it cannot survive a single heavy meal. However, I feel quite soft and supple lips for long hours even after the product fades off, which is impressive.

Overall, it is not intended for beauties fond of deep shades (this winter). It is a must-have for those who love tinted lip balms and those who are looking for one-step solution for dry and patchy lips.  Personally, I like it for every day use as it certainly repairs, primes, hydrates and plumps up lips to a good extent.

Pros of Bite Beauty BB For Lips – Tawny:

• A subtle and lightweight lip enhancing 5-in-1 one balm with SPF 15 sun protection, formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
• It does what it claims to, up to a good extent, also gives a subtle wearable tint.
• Smoothes out lip surface and minimizes fine lines up to a great extent giving them a temporary plump effect.
• Gives a nice glossy and healthy sheen, and subtle color pay off.
• Takes care of dry, patchy lips very well without accentuating further issues.
• Works well with lip stains and matte lip colors.
• Can be worn alone as well, though natural and flush shades are too sheer.
• This particular “Tawny” shade gives semi-sheer coverage which will compliment all Asian/Indian skin tones very well.
• Does not leave any stain behind once it fades off, you get soft and supple lips for long hours.
• Classy and attractive packaging.

Cons of Bite Beauty BB For Lips – Tawny:

• It might be tricky for beauties with pigmented lips.
• Staying power could have been better, it’s only 2-3 hours.
• Needs frequent touch ups for decent color pay off.
• All the shades are way too sheer to be worn alone honestly, especially those who are fond of deeper tints.
• I find it really difficult to slather any lip color over this balm.
• Does not increase wear time of my lip colors whatsoever.
• We can get many great lip balms in the cheaper price range.

I noticed that this BB lip balm is quite similar to L’Oreal Color Riche Caresse lipsticks in finish and properties, but the latter ones are much more pigmented and almost available at a fraction of the price of this high-end brand. It is more like a glossy tinted lip balm which is way glossy and slippery to be worn under lip colors while it is too sheer to be worn alone, hence it might be a pass for all gals who are expecting deep and intense color pay off. However, if you shy away from deeper shades and still want to get those subtle winter berry, dusty pink lips, then go for it.

For me, it is 3.8/5 overall!
