Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick – Apricot Review
After having a very good experience with the Bite Beauty Luminous Cream lipstick in Zin, I wanted to try more shades from that range. I was eyeing on Cin Cin as I am a sucker for coral shades. When I tested it in the store, I didn’t like the way it looked on me, instead I liked the shade “Apricot.” And that becomes today’s topic for discussion. More about that in a moment 😛

My Experience with Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick – Apricot:
I wanted to pick some shade from this line and I was browsing through Sephora’s website. Every shade looked appealing and it was hard for me to decide which one to pick. So, I decided to visit the store and try it before buying. Though all the shades looked yummy on the website, only a few looked good on me. Some lighter shades looked “meh” on me. I picked up Apricot which is a warm brick red color.
The lipstick comes in a grayish matte tube with a pinched top design on the cap. The cap design is a little different from the Zin lipstick. I have been using my Zin lipstick for almost 3 months now, but the tube hasn’t become dirty or anything. I also love the “B” embellishment on the bullet, gives a classy look to the product.
Apricot has been described as a “warm red” on Sephora’s website, and I would like to describe it as “warm brick red.” I think warm reds are relatively easier to sport than their cool counterparts. Also, this has a perfect mix of orange in it. This shade does draw attention to lips, so I would categorize this as an evening shade rather than an every day one. It does brighten up the face.
The texture of the lipstick is very smooth and it glides on lips without tugging or pulling. I don’t find the need to apply a lip balm underneath this lipstick. It has very good pigmentation and in just one swipe, it gives good coverage. It doesn’t look cakey even if I apply multiple swipes. This lipstick does not have any taste or smell to it.
When I wear this shade, I go easy on rest of the makeup. I would just line my upper lash line, apply some mascara and I’m done. Very natural peach blush would go well with this shade, but personally, I don’t prefer wearing any blush with this.
It stays for about 3-4 hours on me. I wore this lipstick to a friend’s place the other day. After a lot of eating and drinking, the lipstick had faded on the inner part of the lips, while the outer part still had color, that was not a good sight at all. I wish it had faded evenly. I did not have this problem with the shade Zin though. Using a lip liner underneath would definitely help.
Summing up the pros and cons of this lipstick:
Pros of Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick – Apricot:
- Pretty bright brick red shade.
- Highly pigmented.
- Goes on very smooth and feels comfortable on the skin.
- Moisturizing.
- Does not bleed.
- Does not accentuate fine lip lines nor does settle in file lines.
- Made with food grade ingredients.
Cons of Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick – Apricot:
- Fades unevenly after eating or drinking.
- The staying power is not very impressive.
Final Word:
I love how pretty this shade looks and feels but wish it had a little more staying power. If you don’t mind re-applying it once during the day, then this is a great shade to try, which is made from food grade ingredients 🙂
