Today, I have yet another Bite Beauty Matte Cream Lip crayon for you – this one is a bright pick shade, and it’s called “Orchid.” Not really the colour for fall but don’t let anyone dictate what you should and should not wear, especially when it comes to makeup! Go rock whatever look you want to! There are days for full on glam and there are days to just embrace your natural panda eyes! 😉 I say this, while I sit in my PJs with no makeup on!

My Experience with Bite Beauty Orchid Matte Crème Lip Crayon:
Packaging: Bite Beauty’s packaging is good quality and extremely irritating! I have mentioned details about the packaging in my earlier reviews also. It’s a black crayon made of good quality plastic. It’s an easy functioning retractable chubby stick which comes packaged in a nice cardboard box. So, what is frustrating? The lip crayons are all black! There are no color indicators on it, no colored bottom or color coordinated cap – not even a colour-coded sticker!!! Considering the size of the crayon and the font size of the shade name written at the bottom, you really have to squint to be able to read the shade name. The funny thing is that you can open the cap and find the upper part of the crayon color-coded to the colour of the lip crayon but one can’t be expected to keep checking shade by opening each lipstick! It’s just – stupid!!
Color: The shade “Orchid” is described as a bright color and I repeat, “a bright” purple-toned fuchsia pink! It is literally an “in your face” shade. No! Not many people will like it. Honestly, I used to love such shades and would wear them often. However, since I discovered neutrals and rosy neutrals, even I got intimidated when I tried this shade for the first time! But if you love bold and bright shades, you will rock this one. Also, such shades can be a boon because they instantly become the centre of attention, so lesser time needs to be spent on eye makeup! A simple black winged liner (HA hA HA!! If ‘winged liner” application is ever simple!!!) or kohl rimmed eyes would do!
Texture: Hallelujah!! Finally, an actual matte from the line! Okay, this one does go on smooth and creamy, but it does finally settle into a more matte finish, this can take anything from half hour to an hour post which it settles down and becomes almost transfer proof. Even post getting matte, it does not get drying or flaky rather, it continues to be comfortable on the lips – though not really hydrating! Because of the creaminess in the texture, it is easy to re-apply. Re-application does not look patchy.
Pigmentation: Love the pigmentation of this lip crayon, just fantastic. It is richly pigmented, full coverage in a single stroke, a dream for people with pigmented lips.
Lasting Power: This one gives a full-day wear! Seriously! You apply in the morning, between the lipstick and the gorgeous stain it leaves, you get a full-day wear. Yes, with eating and drinking the bold intensity of the shade will go down, it gets muted as the product will obviously continue to rub off with anything you eat/drink. However, the color lingers on, gives decent wear.
Ingredients: For anyone who is new to this brand – the major USP of Bite Beauty is that they use food-grade ingredients for their lip products. So, yes, their lipsticks are extremely safe, even if you end up consuming the product with your food/drink.
Fragrance: They have a sickly sweet, kind of herbal smell – don’t really like it, but it does dissipate quickly, so I guess I can live with it!
Pros of Bite Beauty Orchid Matte Crème Lip Crayon:

- Actually settles to a matte finish – over time.
- Twist-up packaging.
- Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.
- Feels hydrating.
- The colour hugs the lips nicely – no feathering or bleeding.
- Food-grade ingredients.
- Excellent wear time.
- Leaves a bright pink stain.
Cons of Bite Beauty Orchid Matte Crème Lip Crayon:
- The brand claims that it is water resistant – nope!
- The packaging definitely needs improvement.
- Fragrance is off putting.

Finally a matte lipstick which is matte! What a winner! Ha ha ha! A bit sad to see that the formula is inconsistent across the line. So, you need to check for reviews before you buy the product. The finish aside, I think there is value in the product because of the safety of the ingredients used, excellent pigmentation and ease of use form a retractable stick packaging. Do give the line a shot – they do have a variety of shades to choose from.
