Label

My Experience with Bite Beauty Sorbet Amuse Bouche Lipstick:

Packaging:  Bite Beauty has a very simple yet classy packaging for its lipsticks. The tube has a rubberized velvety feeling texture with a curved cap. The cap closes securely.

Texture and Feel on Lips:  These Bite Beauty lipsticks apply so smoothly on the lips without any tug or skip. They are super creamy but they do not feel heavy on the lips at all. They are much thinner and lightweight than their former versions which were the “Luminous” cream lipsticks, which have now been discontinued. I find them to be mildly hydrating on my lips. They have almost velvety smooth feeling on my lips and they seem to smooth out the texture of my lips.
Swatch on hands

They are not so intensely creamy and moisturizing (in comparison to their former version), but they do sit comfortably on my lips. I don’t feel like they settle into fine lines or emphasize dry patches. Since they are not so super duper creamy, I have had no problems with these lipsticks bleeding on me which was the issue I faced particularly with the darker shades from the former luminous cream lipstick formula.

Pigmentation:  I am truly impressed with the pigmentation of these lipsticks. They deliver absolute 100% opaque pigmentation in one swipe. The darker shades in particular pack a punch.

Shade:  The shade “Sorbet” is described as a juicy watermelon color. It a beautiful mid-cool toned light pink with hint of blue undertone. It does not look too cool against my warm skin tone (MAC NW22) hence I am able to pull off this shade with ease. It is one of those shades which uplifts your complexion and brighten up your face instantly and is very apt for spring/summer wear. It is a very wearable shade of pink as it is not too bright or neonish.

Finish:  During the initial couple hours of wear, the finish is creamy sheen. The finish falls somewhere between creamy and satin. It has the right amount of sheen without being glossy. The sheen does settle down after a few hours into wear.

Staying Power:  These lipsticks do transfer. The staying power is good at 5 hours with lights snacks and drinks. You will need to reapply after a full meal. This particular shade does not leave a stain but the deeper shades do. I love the fact that Bite Beauty lipsticks have all-natural food grade ingredients so even if I do ingest them along with my meal, I don’t feel like I am ingesting harmful chemicals.

Fragrance:  It has an amazing lemony citrus-y scent. I am all about citrusy fragrances hence I adore the scent on this. It’s not too overwhelming and you can only get a whiff of it during application, it does not linger. This lipstick has a mild sweet taste.

  1. And you are back!! Welcome Back Sweets! My question to you – do these make you get over your love for the luminous ones, or not? 😉 I have my eyes on Chai and then maybe Pepper…. Look forward to their review soon.
