Black Dresses- In Fashion, Every Season

Hubby wrote a post and now I am blushing. Dammmit! πŸ˜€
black For the last two days my wife has been paying excessive compliments to me on my handsomeness, and showering me with hugs and kisses. Not that she does not consider me handsome or showers me with kisses regularly but the ferocity of her emotion has given me goosebumps in all the wrong places. The fact that I haven’t changed my clothes for the past two days hasn’t dimmed the passion of her cleanliness freak soul. That is surprising. Damn surprising. She is not trying to cajole me into doing some work, of that I am sure. And her passion and effusive compliments are genuine, of that also I am sure. But my proud paunch, fondly nurtured during the last three months of ‘ungymming’, brings me as near to ‘handsomeness’ as Lalu Yadav to sexiness. What’s going on?

The answer, when I searched for it, was very simple- I have been wearing my black with jeansblack shirt for the past two days. And black, you gals should be knowing by now, does make a person look slimmer, sophisticated and sexy. No surprises there eh? Maybe not. But when was the last time your spouse gushed so much over you sexy blackthat your juices started flowing? It happened to me ladies. So get that black dress out of your closet. πŸ™‚

So what is about the black colour, a colour associated with funerals or Sunday churches, that should make you so excited? Plenty. For starters, black diminishes contours and lines and hence make you a lot slimmer. So even if your tummy is hanging out, a person would be unable to notice it. Not only that black also makes you look elegant, formal, mysterious, sexy and sophisticated. If you are a woman wearing black then it appears you are submissive to men, according to some fashion experts. And that is highly tempting. Black is also associated with black with jeansauthority and power, so you appear to be someone in control. And that is highly tempting too. I know submission and power are contradictory. But who cares? You are going to be attractive either way!

As I started thinking more and more about it, I also realised that I find Rati very attractive when she is dressed in black. The reason? Black can be contrasted with a variety of colour (except the very dark) and it makes other colour looks brighter. In this relation, itblack saree makes the skin look fairer and makes features of a woman’s face stand out. Not only that, it makes other clothing on the body more appealing, be it a tattered blue jeans. mmmm…I should buy some black lingerie for my wife soon. πŸ™‚

Black is stylish and timeless. You can use your black dress with most other colours. The mute ones for casual wears or outfits for day-wear and the brighter or louder shades for the evenings and special occasions. Black gives good contrast with bright colours so use it on the days you want to look striking.

black kurtaBlack can become your office wear also. Remember how formal the mafia dons looked in the movies? Well, black is considered a conservative colour and is associated with formal wear. Black radiates elegance, authority and power. Got an important meeting in office? Get that classy black suit out of the almirah. Or that great black skirt with a white shirt would do.

On a humorous note, what if you are a teenage girl who likes to act she doesn’t care about the guys? Young lady, things are very black for you indeed. Why not wear that funereal black, look evil, and mourn the lack of a boyfriend? πŸ˜›

As for me, time to get a new black shirt for myself and some sexy black lingerie for my wife. Tee Hee.

And grr.. I need to throw that shirt in a washing machine now. I wonder how I ignored that he was wearing the same black shirt for two days.-Rati

  1. OMG,

That was such a hilarious post..
I especially liked the “young girl mourning the lack of a boyfriend “part. Rati, you are in for some special gifts I guess πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

On a more serious note, I love black, in whatever texture, whatever style. It indeed gives an elegant feel. Btw, I love white too, esp when I pick up shirts for my hubby. Crisp linens and raw silk are always a must when I shop for him.

    1. I better get those special gifts. πŸ˜€ I know so funny.

I also love black. Infact I think I have most blacks in my closet. Although pick is one of my fav colours but black makes me feel sexy. πŸ˜‰

Btw, only if it is not an intrusion into your privacy.

  8. Black used to be one of my fav colors. My entire wardrobe used to be black, blue or red. Have branched out in the last few years and got myself some more color. But Yes, Black is to clothes what Red is to lipstick. πŸ™‚

  9. This is a fantastic post.Rati, your hubby’s writing skills are exceptional. He should write more often…and I too would like to request for a photo of the couple in black! πŸ™‚

  10. now this was some post! i had a great time reading it! congratulations sir! there’s something about a man who writes well.. rati you’re one lucky woman! πŸ˜‰
black is not one of my favourites. i am more of a “colourful” person. a black dress however, does look stunning. intriguing.
according to me, a truly great shade of black is one which is the darkest, further highlighted by the right fabric. there’s nothing worse than nylon-y blackness. ugh!
there’s also something about a man wearing a shirt.. with rolled up sleeves.. with the top buttons open.. ok i better go now…!
(don’t charge me with indecency!) πŸ˜€

    1. You see Rima, it was not my fault. He was wearing a black shirt with rolled sleeves and blah blah. πŸ˜€ We were going for a stroll last evening and I had to get all dressed up to make a decent pair with him lol!

I am a lucky one indeed *touch wood*

And black nylony dress… who wears it?

Btw after many days it feels like Rima is back. πŸ™‚

      1. i have my mood swings for no apparent reason and you’re the first person i’ve come across who seems to register them, that too just by reading my comments! πŸ˜‰

        1. I don’t know how that happens but I get the vibes. The other day Sarah tweeted “June come soon”. I asked her randomly, “are you getting married in June coz no one else would even dare to welcome June”. She answered that she is most probably getting engaged in June. πŸ˜›

          It’s crazy but true.

  11. Shit man… u revealed all d secrets… d secret of black making one luk thinner…i so often use d look slimmer in black trick πŸ˜›

  12. Rati n hubby – you guys are so cute – I mean these posts can only make us imagine the bond you two share – God Bless!
