Bliss Grapefruit + Aloe Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream Review

Hi friends,

I have usually always steered clear of body butters. You might wonder, for someone with dry skin, body butters should be a natural choice. Well, that was not how my experience with body butter happened to be.  The first body butter I had ever bought was Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path Body Butter.  I found it too thick to apply and never had enough patience to blend into my skin. Inevitably most of the body butter ended up on my clothes and the tub just sat there until I used it up as foot cream.  From then on, lotions are my preferred choice. The Bliss Grapefruit+ Aloe body butter was more of an experimental pick up just to make sure if being stickler to lotions was correct or not.

Bliss Grapefruit + Aloe Body Butter Packaging:

The body butter comes in a light blue plastic tube with a lovely grapefruit picture on it. The tube is completely opaque so it is not possible to see the contents. As such the tube is travel friendly and I can easily keep it in my handbag. The cream is white in color and texture wise it is thicker than body lotions. The cream has grapefruit fragrance, which is very mild.

Price:

$29 for 6.7 oz.

My Experience with Bliss Grapefruit + Aloe Body Butter Maximum Moisture Cream:

For me, the term “body butter” always conjures images of thick creams in tubs that I had seen at Bath and Body Works or at Victoria’s Secret stores. In comparison, this body butter is completely unlike them. Though the body butter is creamy, it gets absorbed into the skin immediately on application. So though it is termed as a body butter, it behaves very similar to a body lotion. It does not feel like that I have applied body butter, as there is no greasiness at all.

It provides good hydration for a few hours, but not enough for my dry skin. I find that after 3-4 hours, I need to reapply this body butter.  I think it might be more suitable for someone with oily or normal skin type. As per the product’s claim that it makes the skin very soft, I did not find it very effective on my dry skin.

The fragrance of the body butter is very mild and pleasant. I am not a big fan of fruity aroma and especially grapefruits. However, it is not at all an overwhelming fragrance. After application, I can smell it only if I smell my skin. This body butter would be more suitable as a summer or spring product as it smells very fresh and energizing.

The body butter does not contain any parabens, which is a plus point. Also, it has a good ingredient content of vitamin E with coconut and soyabean oils for nourishment. I have been currently using this body butter more as my hand cream for office. Since it blends completely without leaving any greasiness, I find it very good to apply and do my work.

  1. I’ve used the Lemon+Sage one and I loved it a lot 🙂 But then I have normal skin, so maybe that’s why. Great review dear 🙂

  2. I have been seeing them at a lot of leading stores…This would not work for me as I have terrible dry skin , thanks for the review
