I’m a lip care product junkie and I have no qualms about admitting that 😀 When I step out of my house, my main priority is to look fresh, with ultra soft and nourished looking lips. This is one of those products I picked up to treat my dry lips. Lets find out how it fares, shall we?

Claims :
Blistex Lip Ointment contains four medications to provide relief from the pain, itching and discomfort of lip sores and blisters.

The moisture and emollient base in Blistex Lip Ointment hydrates and softens lip cells to alleviate cracking and seriously dry lips. Blistex Lip Ointment is so effective, it’s clinically proven to elevate lip moisture, heal dry, chapped lips, and improve overall condition.

Beauty professionals also use it to smooth lip texture before applying color. To use as a lipstick base, apply liberally, leave on for five minutes, then remove excess and apply color.

My Experience with Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment:

The white colored substance comes in a deformable plastic tube, which includes a lip applicator. It smells strongly of camphor and has a distinct medicinal smell to it. On applying, the white color dissipates and it gives a very minty feel to the lips. Now for those who love the cool minty feel, it’s great! But personally I don’t quite like having the feel that my mouth is on ‘cool fire’! The feeling does subside in a few minutes, so its not too bothering.

Having said that, the product works wonders for dry, chapped lips. I can always count on this to do a perfect job! You would definitely need to apply this every 3-4 hours for it to remain constantly on your lips, but I don’t think that’s a con. I assure that your lips would turn out looking very soft, smooth and velvety. For a single use, the amount shown in the picture is how much you would need. It’s not sticky or gel-like, but has a very light and creamy texture to it. I’ve used it to fix a dry patch on my cheek when I was at a party and it worked amazing (anything for the lips should be safe for the skin too, right?). I’ve also used it to prep my lips before applying any lipstick etc. The only downside I can think of is that the quantity is so small, that I’m already having anxiety about it getting over soon! I’m going to stock on this since it’s a total winner for me!
