Colorbar Cosmetics Blushes

I have been using Colorbars’ blushes for past 8 months. Time is ripe to do a review on them. Also this post is especially dedicated to Palak from TeenagerWoes who had patiently waited for my review. This one is for you sweetheart. ๐Ÿ™‚

Key Ingredients: Talc, Aluminium starch, octenylsuccinate, Nylon 6, Isostearyl, Neopentandate, Polybutene, Cyclohexasiloxane, Butyl Stearate, Ethyhexyl, Methoxycinnmate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cyclopentasiloxane, , Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben,ย  Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben (I thought I had left organic chemistry way behind :P)
May contain: Red7lake, Iron Oxides, Manganese Violet, Titanium Dioxide, Mica

Note: I have not done much search on the ingredients. If you have any info about any harmful ingredient, do let me know. ๐Ÿ™‚

Price: Rs 250 each for 6 gms of blush.

What are colorbar blushes?

They are pressed powder blushes.

Why should you buy colorbar blushes?

  1. Beautiful range of colours from pinks to browns to gold.
  2. Do not dry your cheeks at all. My skin gets pretty dry in winters but never ever have I felt any dryness caused by these blushes. In fact, my skin looks smoother and glowy with them on.
  3. Not very pigmented but are quite build-able.
  4. Look very natural.
  5. Give a gorgeous glow to your face.
  6. Convenient Packaging.
  7. Inbuilt mirror
  8. Comes with an okayish brush. In fact, I find the bristles pretty smooth. If you are travelling and you don’t want to carry an exta brush, this brush wouldn’t fail you.ย  Nothing great about it but can’t say it is bad.
  9. Comes in a transparent coverย  packaging. So would would never have to waste time searching the colours.
  10. Decently priced
  11. The product lasts long enough

Why shouldn’t you buy Colorbar blushes?

  1. They do not stay on your cheeks for very long. Very disappointing in that area.
  2. They tend to break and turn into powder, if handled roughly. In fact, they can be quite messy at times. (Check Cosmic Rose blush photograph)
  3. No information given about the application of blushes.
  4. I am a little confused about their manufacturing- the trademark says “Colorbar USA“, Contents “Made in Italy”, “Manufactured in Thane”,” Marketed by a Colorbar, New Delhi”. Would someone explain the logic to me? Or should I feel highly privileged that I am using such a globally manufactured product? ๐Ÿ˜›

How to store Colorbar Blushes?

The blushes come in a square cardboard box. It is best that you store the containers in them only. This would prevent your blushes from breaking. I threw away the carton of Cosmic Rose and it broke and broke and churned itself into a messy powder. ๐Ÿ™

Color by Color Report:

Colorbar has six shades and not five, as listed on their website.

  1. Cosmic Rose:This is where my love for Colorbar’s blushes started. It a light pink colour blush and would look very pretty on people who have a fair and pinkish complexion. Non glittery.
  2. Just Earth: I use it as my bronzer. I have a fairly fair complexion. This is a medium brown colour. Non glittery.
  3. Peachy Pink: This is my favourite colour these days. It gives a warm pink glow and I think it will look the prettiest on most Indian skin tones. It has a little bit of golden glitter. But when did I say I don’t like glitter? ๐Ÿ™‚ Looks beautiful any time of the day. It is such a gorgeous colour. Oh My!
  4. Trace Gold: I bought this one by mistake. I was looking for a bronzer but the foolish sales girl convinced me that it works great as a bronzer. It is not a bronzer, girlies. It is a highlighter. Actually, I am happy that I ended up buying it. As the name suggests, it has no colour, only traces of gold. You can use it as a highlighter either on top of your normal blush or right above your cheeks to give a hint of highlight. It is best if you use this with the brush that comes along with it. This brush will give a better hold than the normal blush brush.
  5. Fuschia: I am yet to try this one. But I think fuschia would make a best blush for people who have wheatish complexion.
  6. Plum Brown: No tried this one as well. But again would work as a great bronzer for people with fair to wheatish complexion.

Indian Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: 4/5

Will I buy Colorbar blushes again? Haven’t you guessed it by now how much I love them? Yes, yes and yes! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have swatched 4 blushes that I own. You can click on the images and enlarge all of them for a closer view.

If you have any other query regarding colorbar blushes, feel free to ask me. I guess Colorbar should make me their brand ambassador. ๐Ÿ˜›

So gurlies, which blushes do you own and are closest to your heart?

  1. Hi Rati..ur the one who asked me about Skin Food too right? *Sooo* nice to find another beauty blogger from Delhi :)) we can swap stories!!
Wow these blushers look impressive.. i’m liking Peachy Pink. I’ve never bought Colorbar stuff…i went to their store in Select City once but they don’t keep testers so I was kinda pissed..lol.
As for the mascara guard..I haven’t seen one in delhi..i bought mine from Malaysia. I’m always wishing that these things would b easily available in India *sigh*

  2. Hey Cynthia,

Yes I was the one who asked you about the skin food. Yes, peachy pink is gorgeous. I have kind of stopped using cosmic rose since the time I have bout Peachy Pink.

The attendants at Select City Walk’s store have no clue about their own products. You ask them about anything and they look blank. I bought these blushes from M Block Market. Somehow I feel you have to use your own brain while shopping for makeup because the attendants are way too desperate to sell their products.

Yes I hope we have all the international brands here in India. And at an affordable price as well. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Thanks for visiting. *Hugs*

  3. Btw..which one r u from my followers? Just asking coz I don’t know most of them coz I can’t access their website or blog… there’s no link. Anyways I’m gonna follow u too! Ciao..

  4. Oh yeah attendants don’t know anything…sometimes I have to try hard not to laugh in their face when they suggest something that really would not suit u n when they give fake compliments just so u’d buy from them..lol. Definitely can’t let them decide for us ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Oh! by following, I meant would be reading your blog regularly. Now I am officially following via google connect and following you with my own name. ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry for the confusion.

Seriously, I don’t know when will I come across some trained attendents. ๐Ÿ˜€

  6. N u might want to add the option ‘My blog'(yr blog name/link) to yr profile so pple can reach yr blog from yr profile. It’s not there…lol..ok now i feel like i’m spamming yr comments box ๐Ÿ˜€

    YAY !!
    Love ya loads
    xx

  9. @rati and cynthia
yes , u said that right
SA have no knowledge of thier products watsoeva
U knw , I have been fooled by SA at lakme ,she PRESSURISD , TORMENTED and fooled me into getting lakme foundie in “marble” ..oh man .. I shud have applied my brains and shud have gotten “shell”
buh it didnt hurt , just becoz lakme foundations are nt full coverage , I can also get away with “marble” , it looks just a tad bit lighter on mah skin !!:P

  10. Yeah you must try them. They are very pretty. Just use this trick to make your blush last longer on your cheeks: https://makeupandbeauty.com/?p=145

I know these SAs are never trust worthy. I use ‘marble’ in Lakme but the SA fooled me and sold me ‘pearl’ for Lakme’s powder to creame compact. I look like ghost whenever I apply it. ๐Ÿ˜› I think most of my product is used to making it work on my face and rubbing it off afterwords.lol!!

And you are most welcome, hun. Glad! I could help.

    *Hugs*

  11. Yes i read it on your blog. Actually the only problem with powder blushes is that they don’t last long. I have to try Lakme’s tint.

    Thanks for visting, hun. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. as soon as i saw this post, i knew i had to get “trace gold”, so today when i had a couple of extra bucks hanging around my purse, i got it. gosh its beautiful! i immediately came home and generously applied it to my cheeks, forehead, nose and chin. for someone like me, who has permanently pink cheeks, “trace gold” was welcome! i am glad i heard about these blushes from your blog. i feel like getting the whole collection now!

i have always been apprehensive about buying colorbar because somehow i always thought that it isnt a good brand and research has not gone into its products. i had tried its “triple act compact” a couple of months ago and my skin really broke out. i guess that bad experience further stopped me from experimenting with colorbar. however, after hearing so many positive things from you about its products, i am willing to experiment once again. lakme is pretty much getting on my nerves these days so colorbar it is!

  13. Lol!! I bought this one accidently and fell in love with it once I applied it. ๐Ÿ˜› The best part is that it’s not chunks and chunks of gold. Just a subtle shimmer and shine and gives a healthy glow to your cheeks.

I ahve not used its triple act compact or foundation. I had always been apprehensive about them. Now I am not willing to buy them even more. ๐Ÿ˜›

Actually I guess I am going to buy only Mac for my base makeup. Once the base makeup is beautiful, most products looks good on your face.

Glad I could be of some help. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Hi Rati,

I recently bought the Plum Brown Blush from Colorbar. It is a matte peachy apricot color. Not so much brown, but more peachy. It is a good choice for office wear.

  15. Great Tanveer. ๐Ÿ™‚ I generally like my blushes to have a hint of shimmer. My ‘Just Earth’ is matte but I don’t use it too much. Would love to know how you like it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. The colorbar counter had only 2 blushes left when i went shopping. Plum Brown & Peachy Pink. Since I am more of a matt blush person i chose Plum Brown, tho i must say even i was attracted to the pretty shimmer in peachy pink. Maybe i’ll pick it up next month ๐Ÿ™‚

They haven’t launched the new line of blushes here ๐Ÿ™

The SA said that they shd be launched within a week, and which is why thr has been some shortage in the market here. We don’t have a stand alone Colorbar store here in Mumbai so i am unable chk out the gorgeous stuff like you ๐Ÿ™‚

Am waiting and will def let you know what I think once I can lay my hands on them

  17. I can bet you would love peachy pink. I find it so natural. infact, I am not going to rebuy cosmic rose because Peachy Pink is so right colour. ๐Ÿ˜› Apricot color I am guessing should be a great colour to use especiily since summers are approaching. Let’s see. ๐Ÿ™‚

We have all these huge malls opening up here so most big brands have opened their flagship stores here. Colorbar’s main office is in Delhi so that is another reason we get products here quickly than any other place.

You were coming to Delhi no? That got cancelled? or else I would have taken you along to all these places. ๐Ÿ™‚

  18. Hey Rati,

I have just 1 blush n tht is VOV…its a light pink color w shimmer and looks gr8…it gives such a wonderful shine to my cheeks. Never thght of buying another blush as I don’t use blush on a regular basis, just for parties or weddings and this blush looks equally good during day n night..but maybe during my next visit to a beauty shop or mall will surely checkout colorbar blushes

  19. Hi HD,

I have read mixed reviews about VoV so I am kind of skeptical about giving it a try. I lurveee blushes. I don’t know how would I have survived had there been no blushes around. ๐Ÿ˜› You must check out colorbar blushes. My mom introduced me to these blushes and now I am addicted to them. ๐Ÿ˜›

  20. Well I have a blush from VoV and an eyeshadow palette and I love both of these…no complaints yet…infact these are the only blush and eyeshadows I own…I like makeup but mostly only for occassions so dont indulge much as in the past I have had to throw away a lot of stuff without completely using it since it expired…..on a daily basis its just under eye pencil and lipstick fr me and at times eye liner on the upper lid…but I must admit..since i’ve started using eyeshadow and blush I cannot brng myself to go to any party/wedding without applying these….just liner n lipstick looks very plain to me now for such occassions!! I hv a couple of friends using VoV ES n blush too ( I introduced thm to it and infact its the first time they are using ES and blush) and no complaints yet…n VoV is easy on the pocket too

    Cheers

  21. Yea, I was gonna come to Delhi. But then hubby had a training to attend, so the plan got canceled last moment ๐Ÿ™

I wld have loved to meet u & visit all yr regular haunts. ๐Ÿ˜€
