Bobbi Brown #4 Natural Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15 Review

Skin type: Oily-sensitive, acne prone
Skin tone: Fair-light, yellow-neutral undertones

Hello beauties
How are you doing today? I am here to share my views on my newly purchased foundation from Bobbi Brown. Considering I have oily skin type with a bit of redness on cheeks and then the pale yellow glare on face (which always show up in wrong time), it becomes a task to look picture perfect especially in summers. Moreover, whether it is a simple get together, any rehearsal or a show I need to look my best ditching the paleness behind base makeup; thankfully I can rely on few makeup products which never disappoint me. And this Bobbi Brown foundation is one such base makeup which never ceases to amaze me with its flawless, saturated and even-tone finish on my problematic skin. Let’s read more about Bobbi Brown Natural Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15.

My Experience with Bobbi Brown #4 Natural Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation SPF 15:

The foundation comes in sturdy and semi-opaque glass bottle packing with pump dispenser and tight shut black cap. It does have significant lavender fragrance which subsides soon after application. Over all I absolutely like the simple yet elegant user-friendly & travel-friendly packaging.
packaging

Bobbi Brown foundation is available in 10+ shades covering every possible fair/light/medium/tan skin tone with their respective undertones. For my pale yellow skin tone I had at least 2-3 close matches and out of all I picked “Natural 4” which is perfect match for my yellowish pale skin which often tones down a bit in summers. It may appear light beige in packaging but it blends perfectly with my skin tone imparting my skin better effect without making me look further tanned or exceptionally fair in person or in pictures.
details

Considering my hobby with photo shoots I find this base makeup perfect for me as it never make me look “white”; it just gives much needed, even-toned, bright, yet oil-free base makeup which looks and feels natural. The texture of foundation is certainly thick yet light-weight and it requires quick blending as it sets fast. It is definitely better and different than my last love Makeup For Ever foundation in many aspects. It provides medium to buildable full coverage in just two layers; oh yes I just need one even layer to conceal almost 70% of my scars, redness and uneven skin texture.

A little goes long way with this foundation as one pump of the product is sufficient for my whole face, while I prefer using MUFE foundation for neck as I won’t require heavy coverage for neck region; also I can make it last me more days. Surprisingly, despite its heavy coverage it never appears heavy or cakey on my skin; it looks natural and simply blends on skin like a dream. However I do need to blend it quickly as it tends to dry or set up soon (I won’t call it drying for my skin though). It comfortably sets on skin with any fluffy brush or normal sponge. I like how it never sits on my pores or fine lines; even it does not settle on dry patches or emphasize them further.

Moreover the finish and formula is definitely not matte as it imparts dewy glow to my face but I feel pretty oil and shine free yet youthful for considerable hours. I never use concealer with this foundation as it alone takes care of all my major concerns including oiliness, redness, uneven tone/texture etc. I do need primer and setting powder with this formula though but nothing major concerning as it sits comfortably for good 7-8 hours; 12 hours is bit exaggerated claim I feel. I am also impressed to see how it never clogged my pores or caused any break outs on my problematic skin.
shade

I have worn it several times for more than 6 hours in such dry summers yet it never failed to impress me with its youthful natural finish covering my flaws and highlighting the best. I am sure it will work well for most Indian skin tone and types including dry to acne prone skin type beauties; especially because it has not disappointed me yet(and you know how I always whine about my weirdo skin :P). I would definitely recommend this product to every beauty including girls with pigmentations, sun spots or other problematic areas on your skin. It will certainly ease your task and might replace your concealing correcting routine as well. Personally I would love to get it again though the high price tag is a bit concerning.
