My Experience with Bobbi Brown Extra Rinse Balm …

IS AWESOME! I have been wanting to try this cleansing balm for a while now. The last time I went to pick it up, it was sold out. So this time when I saw it in stock, I grabbed it. It’s a lemon coloured thick cleansing balm that comes packed in a wide mouthed heavy glass jar.

The consistency of this cleansing balm is thick sticky. Imagine the consistency of thick honey. You have to rub it between the palms, warm up the product and then use it in circular motions on the skin to remove the makeup. So even though the consistency is thick once you rub the product between your palms, it gets a little emollient. So that ways it is easier to work with. Be a little careful that you don’t tug your skin with this because it can easily be done.

You massage the product in your skin for a few seconds and wash it off with warm water. Upon contact with water, the balm turns into milky consistency and rinses off easily. Does not leave any residue behind. The best part, it removes every damn last trace of makeup from your skin. I mean every single trace. No kidding. I tried using makeup remover with a cotton pad after using it, nothing comes off. 😀 The only piece of advice I’d like to offer is that you remove your eye makeup with an eye makeup remover first before using this. Because after using this balm, you would instantly be drawn to washing off your face with water and the tears of mascara running down your face won’t be a pretty sight. 😛

It leaves skin soft and super clean. I wouldn’t say that it leaves my skin hydrated but it does not leave it dry as well.

It does not sting the eyes at all. Sometimes I have gently removed makeup close to my eyes and it was quite comfortable. It is super gentle on skin.

A little goes a long way. This huge jar could last me good 6-7 months. Be sure to use clean dry fingers every time you scoop out the balm.

I am a sucker for citrusy fragrances and it smells of lemons and oranges to me. It has citrus essential oils in it. I would say that it is a strong fragrance and could be an issue for those with very sensitive nose. I absolutely love it.

The only drawback I’d say is the heavy glass jar. Prone to breaking, not very hygienic and totally not travel friendly. Honestly, I have already ignored all these points because it is such a brilliant product. 😀

I don’t think this is ever disappearing from my stash. Love it! It’s a mini at home spa. Relaxing and rejuvenating.

I think it should work for all skin types. I have normal to dry skin, for reference.
