bobbi brown skin serum foundation review

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Serum Foundation :

I picked up Bobbi Brown’s Serum foundation a while back. I have never used a serum foundation before so this one intrigued me quite a bit. Plus SPF 40 in a foundation was something new to me. I have been using it every single day since the day I bought it to see how it wears.

It comes in a gorgeous black bottle with a dropper – the same as the Bobbi Brown serum. The only problem is that you have to get used to of using it. Plus as the bottle gets old, the products start getting accumulated on the edges. It not only is unhygienic, it also causes product wastage.

It is available in 16 shades plus even the half shades are available. So you can get your very close match to your skin tone as well. But the things is that foundation oxidises a bit so it’s best to go a 0.5 shade lighter and it fits! 🙂 It use it in shade 4.5 Warm Natural.

Coming to the foundation itself. The idea behind this foundation is to provide a superlative day to day skincare benefits with a color correction for your skin. The SPF 40 is a brilliant addition. This foundation also includes bamboo grass extract that targets dulness and unevenness. Cordyceps Mushroom Extract is a powerful tonic that is used in traditional Chinese medicine that helps in replenishing skin cells. Lychee Extract that keeps skin hydrated.

It is a light-weight foundation with medium to buildable coverage. I’d say that it can be built up to a very good coverage foundation with light layers. I mostly use it with a beauty sponge and I love the airy look it gives to my skin.

It adds a light glow to the skin without being too shiny. But I’d say it is best suited for people with normal, dry or combination skin. It may feel too shiny for people with oily skin. The staying power is average 6 hours. I notice it fading around my nose area especially. But considering this is purely a day time foundation, I think it is fine.

I think it is a brilliant everyday foundation.Iit prevents you from piling on a ton of products. Looks natural on your skin. Feels light. Is providing skin care benefits to your skin rather than harming it. It has a light refreshing fragrance. Contains SPF 40. The packaging could definitley be improved. The pile of foundation on the rim a horror to see. My skin is most sensitive these days because of the polluted paint air at my home and things are breaking me out. This foundation has never aggravated my skin or broken me out. It does not settle in fine lines or gets cakey or accentuate fine lines.

Overall, if you are an an office goer this is one of the best investments you can do. It would give you that polished look in a few drop but most importantly would take care of your skin.

I wouldn’t call this a best foundation for photographs esp not meant for flash photography. This is more of everyday pampering your skin but secretly. 😀

I have barely used any other foundation since the time I have got it and i know this is one foundation I am going to completely finish using.
