Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – Rosy Review

Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – Rosy Review

After an exhausting first half of the day, my elder one had to be taken to the doctor, younger one to be dropped to playschool and then back again! Exhausted! Sometimes, I feel drained out mentally than physically.  My advice to anyone who is thinking of a second child – think, think again, and then do it 😛 Yes, you do become more of a referee than a mother, but its so worth it!  In continuation with the “Back with Bobbi” series, I review for you another gloss from the Bobbi Brown collection – #22 Rosy.

Bobbi+Brown+Lip+Gloss+Rosy+Review

Product Details:

A lip gloss with a sheer, non-sticky shine with a hint of color.  Lip gloss is formulated with soothing botanical extracts including Avocado, Jojoba and Chamomile Oils, and Aloe Extract to keep lips soft and supple; plus the new tapered applicator lets you apply it like a pro. Scented with a hint of vanilla.

Price:

US $24 for 7 ml.

I have a mini version, cost me about INR 1200 for 4.2 ml (post conversions).

Packaging:

As I mentioned in my previous review, the lip gloss has a square transparent plastic bottle and comes with a brush like applicator. It’s extremely easy to apply and to use around the lip curves.  The packaging being small, its extremely easy to carry it in a clutch for re-application.

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – Rosy:

Color: The colour “Rosy” is described on the website as “sheer bright rose.” I find the colour to be a soft creamy pink. It can be sheered or layered as per your preference. This one can be used on its own as a rosy wash of colour on lips hiding pigmentation or it can be used to tone down a bright neon pink lipstick.  There is no sparkle/sheen/shimmer at all, its pure gloss finish.  I find it flattering and appealing.

Texture: The texture is glossy and a little sticky.

Pigmentation: It can be sheered out or built to colour in the tube by using a little more product when applying. It covers lip pigmentation.

Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss Rosy 6

Lasting Power:  On its own, it lasts about 3 hours.  On top of a lipstick, it lasts a little longer.

To sum this up for you:

Pros of Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – Rosy:

  • A beautiful rosy creamy pink colour, can be used alone or on top of a lipstick to tone it down a bit and obviously to add luscious glossiness.
  • Easy to use applicator.
  • Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.
  • Feels hydrating.
  • Convenient small packaging.
  • Light pleasant fragrance, easy on the nose.

Cons of Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – Rosy:

  • As mentioned in my previous review, I feel there is too little product for that pricing.

IMBB Rating:

Yes, a 4.5/5 product.

I am so waiting for Bobbi Brown makeup to come to Mumbai, so I stop buying these internationally at exorbitant prices.  Not that its cheaper in India, but still, at least you pay in rupees instead of dollars!Hmpf!

Gloss colours do not show adequately in FOTDs, so I will not be putting FOTD in gloss reviews.

  1. “My advice to anyone who is thinking of a second child – think, think again, and then do it 😛 Yes, you do become more of a referee than a mother, but its so worth it!” Absolutely right dear… I share the same feeling…..

This shade is absolutely pretty and it suits you very well…your review is very good as always.

    1. *thankyou* Heena – its is indeed pretty! I was kidding – the decision isn’t quite as simple. I know how difficult it is – one of the most difficult ones that we face. Wish you all the best with the decision you take Heena! *puchhi*

  2. So cute pic wid lil hands.. *puchhi* I am sailing on kinda same boat *hihi* my relatives n nw parents ask me to get Aadya’s companion bt we r like.. *scared* *scared* *hihi* bt it is so worth it as u say.. *happydance*
The gloss is equally lovely on ur lips *clap*

    1. Those cute hands are always upto something!!! *nababana* *nababana*

I know parents and relatives will always have something new to nag about – but Like I said to Heena as well – its a difficult decision. And Ultimately, we, as moms, will need to manage the ground realities of the decision – physically managing 2 kids day in and day out. Sometimes I feel guilty about the second one coz I feel I am not able to give my full attention to Shaurya and make restrictions for him coz of Vie (don’t speak so loud, baby will wake up; don’t jump around, baby will imitate you n get hurt; so on so forth!) Shaurya resents Vie and Vie adores Shau. But at the back of the mind is that hopefully one day they will become friends and each other’s support system – especially when we are not around anymore… But again – it was difficult to decide! But, today, given a choice – i would still take the same decision. *haan ji* *haan ji*

      1. aww sweety don’t worry they will surely be best buddies I have three sibling and all of us fought like cats n dogs puling hair and scratching faces but today we love each other I am sure once they grow up they will love each other too. SO chill baby I love ur lip swatches u r a fab mom I am sure and god has given special powers to momz to manage their babies. *puchhi* *puchhi*

  3. Very decent and seriously a rosy shade KK *woot* *woot* glosses look great on you along with lipsticks *clap* *clap* *clap*

  4. well KK, i have been praying for myself to conceive, i have zero kids right now but seriously, i want prayers, i want them badly, atleast 3 … no matter how much trouble they give managing them, the chaos they create but in loneliness when they come and out their arms around you, that is the earning of one’s life…

    1. Have Faith in HIM and hang in there! I’ll keep you in my prayers. I know how agonising it can be. I have PCOD – took me a year to conceive my first one! Ive lost count of how much medication, how many injections, sonographies, etc I went through to conceive Shaurya. Some people had said it wouldn’t happen at all – had suggested adoption, etc. Its a matter of time! Be positive and keep faith! *puchhi* *puchhi*

IMBB – Need a JADDU KI JHAPPI emoticon here pls!!!!!

    1. *thankyou* Arshi! I feel blessed to have found new friends through IMBB…the amount of unconditional love which pours out is overwhelming. For me too, reading and responding to the comments is the most enjoyable part of the whole process!
