Hi Everyone,
A few days back I pulled out some burgundy lip colors to try and review on the blog. I have been constantly using Lotus Lipstick in Magenta Fire so I thought it was time I showed my love to some other burgundy lip colors in my stash. The following colors are not only excellent for the winter season and day to day wear but they are excellent colors for brides as well. Choose which one you have to pick. 🙂
Regarding rating, the points are deducted mostly based on the availability but if you can get hold of these, they are excellent picks. 🙂
Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Color Cherry Pink 6
- Price : Rs 1390
- Finish : semi glossy
- Color : a cherry wine color
- Texture : balm like, very light weight, nourishing and adds a little plumpness to lips. Does not settle in fine lines
- Longevity : 3 + hours
- Pigmentation : semi sheer
- Goes Best With : pink toned blushes, you can sheer it down further to go with dark eye makeup
- Skin Tones : all skin tones
- Fragrance : negligible
- Do I like It? Love. the most pigmented sheer lipsticks you’d come across
- Rating : 4.8/5
Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color Crimson 16 SPF 12
- Price : Rs 1390
- Finish : semi matte
- Color : deep dark rich burgundy
- Texture : creamy. does not bleed or settle in fine lines.
- Longevity : 5 + hours
- Pigmentation : super pigmented
- Goes Best With : soft eye makeup and berry blushes.
- Skin Tones : all skin tones. Works great for indian skin tones
- Fragrance : very mild almost negligible
- Do I like It? love it!
- Rating : 4.8/5

- Color : a burgundy red with golden micro-shimmers, which almost works as a soft shine.
- Texture : creamy, opaque , does not feel heavy on lips, does not dry out the lips and does not settle in fine lines
- Longevity : 5 + hours
- Pigmentation : super pigmented and buildable. can be worn as a lovely stain as well.
- Goes Best With : as a statement lip color.
- Skin Tones : all skin tones
- Fragrance : vanilla but no taste.
- Do I like It? yup!

- Finish : Amplified
- Color : a warm brown based berry red. very similar to mac dare you but both are different finishes. It is one of those muted reds that is no so in-your-face and can easily be worn during day time.

- Longevity : 5 hours and leaves a lovely berry stain behind.
- Pigmentation :opaque and buildable
- Goes Best With : soft eye makeup and pink/ berry toned blushes
- Skin Tones : all skin tones and especially goes really well with Indian skin tones.
- Fragrance : vanilla
- Do I like It? Love. It’s a very versatile color
- Rating : 4.5/5
MAC Fever Blush :
- Price : Rs 1100
- Finish : Matte
- Color : deep wine
- Texture : very smooth, non powdery. Non shimmery.
- Longevity : 6 + hours
- Pigmentation : Super pigmented to an extent that you have to be careful using it.
- Goes Best With : reddish, wine and pink toned lipsticks
- Skin Tones : Medium to dusky
- Fragrance : None
- Do I like It? I like it but I have to use it carefully. It’s not very forgiving if you overdo the color. You may end up looking bruised. 😛 But it is a PERFECT winter blush to go with all your burgundy / wine lip colors. You can even use it a contouring color and pair it with a light pink blush for cheeks.
