Eye color: Brown

Hello beauties,
Did I tell you my friends got me a fresh set of saree and matching jewellery all the way from India while I am anticipating another collection due from my friend who will arrive here this weekend. Yay! Anyways before I start dreaming of my first ever Kanjeevaram saree, let’s talk about today’s review. Bobbi Brown is my favorite among leading high-end brands considering I have tried their top notch products. I have never been disappointed from any single Bobbi brown product till date though I agree that some of the products are often over priced in every high end brand and the long wear gel eye liner might be one of those pricey possessions.

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner – Sepia Ink:

The gel eye liner comes in a cute, mini glass jar with twist over shiny black cap enclosed nicely inside sturdy cardboard packaging. It does not provide any additional eye liner brush or applicator pretty much to my disappointment. Over all I find it pretty user friendly and travel friendly packaging.

My shade “Sepia Ink” is a deep brown gel liner with no shimmers. Considering I have brown eyes and pale skin tone, this color seems really flattering on my face. And as much as I have started with eye makeup, I feel more comfortable wearing brown, deep brown on my upper eye lids over jet black which is limited to my waterline. I feel it pairs up well with every eye makeup without coming up harsh on eyes.

This is my second gel liner purchase after L’Oreal gel liner which seems as good as this Bobbi Brown one! Can you imagine? However, I love this matte deep brown gel liner more for it gives me perfect finish and intense color pay off with no smudging or transferring on my oily eye lids. Yes gals, I need not apply eye primer for wearing this liner alone unless I am all for pairing it up with colorful eye shadows. Now this is definitely impressive for me because I don’t feel like using eye primer on a daily basis while I am getting habitual of wearing gel liners regularly.

And it stays without budging (transferring a bit) for good 5+ hours on my oily eye lids, fading evenly without making me look like a panda or chocolate pudding. Next I love it for the ease of application; it has pretty stiff yet spreadable soft gel texture which gives seamless, even-toned finish on eyes. Blame it to my brush applicator if my wing line is imperfect because I never find it goopy or streaky on my eye lids regardless of using flat liner or fine liner brush.

It is also commendable to note that the liner comes up wet gel type on eyes which soon dries up to a matte deep brown color. I know it won’t be a problem for skilled hands plus I see even if it dries up in middle of lining my eyes then also I can easily layer it on and it doesn’t look flaky or peeling off unlike cheap liners. This is the biggest advantage for me as I can never finish my eye makeup in one go.

Now imagine I have super oily eye lids; with the onset of summers when I am already sweating like a pig, this liner seems stubborn enough to stay in place with no signs of smudging or travelling to other parts of my skin. How cool haan? Moreover, wearing it over eye primer would definitely yield much intense color pay off with long lasting wear time. I can see that it is nearly water proof and won’t crease.

And the best thing, it is easily removable with any makeup remover wipe or remover with no rubbing at all. My Clean and clear wipes are not that efficient in removing eye makeup; hence, I was surprised to see how easily they wiped off this liner. I just fear that it might dry up soon as gel liners do not last longer though I haven’t seen any signs so far; I have been testing it since 2-3 weeks and the texture seems as fresh as new.

Pros of Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner – Sepia Ink:

• A shimmer free soft deep matte brown gel liner.
• It is stiff yet softest in texture.
• I hardly wear primer with this liner.
• It provides intense pigmented, seamless, smooth finish.
• It does not look patchy or streaky at all.
• It does not come up cakey or flakey even with multiple layers.
• It stays on for good 5-6 hours on my bare eye lids while survives as long as 6+ hours on well primed eye lids.
• It hardly takes 2-3 seconds to dry up.
• It is completely non-bleeding and creasing proof.
• Easily removable with any makeup remover wipes.

Cons of Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner – Sepia Ink:

• It dries up too soon on eyelids even before I could finish lining my eyes.
• It might dry up in jar as well.
• Pricey.

Will I Repurchase Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner – Sepia Ink?
Looking at the hefty price, I might think twice splurging on this beauty again but considering its quality, I won’t mind shelling out bucks as well. I don’t think other than the price I have any major concerns with this beauty though it will certainly give me heartache to see my 26 bucks drying up too soon. 😛 Nevertheless Bobbi Brown fans would love to own this soft wearable deep brown gel liner.
