Hey gorgeous gals,
Another Bobbi Brown review for today and this one is a bright one. Every time I use these lipsticks by Bobbi Brown, I am just taken aback by how lightweight and yet pigmented these are. So, let’s find out if “Tahiti Pink” from Bobbi Brown’s Luxe Lip Color range is consistent with the other shades that I have reviewed so far.
A full-coverage, vitamin C and E-infused lipstick that plumps lips, supports natural collagen, and smooths the look of lines and wrinkles. Luxe Lipstick rejuvenates lips, helping to reduce the appearance of lip lines and relieve lip flaking. Infused with vitamins C and E and MaxiLip, a powerful peptide, this lipstick plumps lips, supports natural collagen production and minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles. My Experience with Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Tahiti Pink:
Packaging: Bobbi Brown moved from her classic black packaging to the one colour which has always indicated luxe – “gold!” So, the case for the luxe lip color happens to be a golden one with Bobbi Brown written on the side and her lovely logo etched on top. The bullet itself is free from any branding. The lipstick has the regular twist-up mechanism and lacks the magnetic closure. However, the cap fits in snugly, so there are very little chances of it coming undone in a bag. As with all things Bobbi Brown, the lipstick comes packaged in a black box, which has the ingredients mentioned on it.
Shade: “Tahiti Pink” is a medium, bright pink with just a hint of coral and a glossy sheen. It is quite a youthful and vibrant shade, and very very pretty, but I understand that it could well be away from some people’s comfort zone – despite the fact that it isn’t in the least bit garish.
Texture: The texture is lightweight and buttery smooth, but with this one, I found that there was more slip than other colors. It glided on more effortlessly and the texture seemed more emollient and thinner (though still pigmented). It did not sink into the fine lines, but on pursing the lips, the product would show lines of imprint. A lip liner or a primer as base should help with this one. It is still very hydrating. It does not get drying over time.
Pigmentation: Pigmentation is good, but there is a certain amount of translucency. It is never fully opaque.
Lasting Power: The lipstick gives you about 5.5-6 hours of wear. The shade leaves a distinct pink stain, which gives another hour or so of mileage.
Fragrance: There is a very faint fragrance – when I put my nose to it!
Pros of Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Tahiti Pink:
- A beautiful, bright medium pink.
- Lightweight texture.
- Good pigmentation, but has a bit of translucency.
- Very comfortable to wear – no feeling of dryness or clinginess.
- Easy to apply and get clean lines.
- Applies smoothly and evenly, slides on like butter.
- No feathering or bleeding.
- Luxe packaging.
- Decent wear time.
- Free from parabens, sulfates, phthalates.
- Leaves a strong stain.
Cons of Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Tahiti Pink:
- Texture seems more emollient and thinner.
- The product tends to bunch up when lips are pursed together. A lip liner or a lip primer underneath it should help.
Would I Recommend Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color Tahiti Pink?
I do like the shade but find it slightly more tricky to work with. I tend to use a lip liner as base or apply it as a stain instead and blot out the texture.
