Today’s review is about Bobbi Brown Lip Color in the shade “Neon Pink.” Bobbi Brown is famous for its wearable pinks and their lipsticks marked a significant place in top ten lipstick brands of 2014. Recently, they have added numerous new shades in all of their lipstick ranges. So when I had the opportunity to pick an IMBB purchased product, I decided to pick one from their basic lip color range.  Let’s move on to the product review.

My Take on Bobbi Brown Neon Pink Lip Color:

These are lipsticks for women who want creamy formula with semi-matte finish along with qualities like non-drying finish, full coverage, comfortable, and long-wearing lip color.  When I decided to pick a new lipstick, almost automatically I always look towards pinks more than reds, browns, n*des, mauves or plums. Apart from wearable pink, I always fall for fuchsia pink. Let’s have a detailed look at “Neon Pink” from Bobbi Brown.

Packaging:  Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Neon Pink comes in regular packaging of the range with a black card box. It comes in a glossy black square and not-so-sleek packaging with golden bullet chamber.  It has a twist-up mechanism to reveal the lipstick bullet. The cap closes tightly, making it safe to be carried around and the small size fits in every purse. The glossy packaging attracts finger prints easily. The bottom of the lipstick houses a sticker with the shade label. In a nutshell, the packaging is pretty and elegant.

Texture/Fragrance/Finish:  I have used one more shade from the range (Tulip) and I think the texture isn’t completely same through the range. It varies to some extent. Some lipsticks are soft and creamier than others; so the formula isn’t exactly consistent throughout the range.

The texture of Bobbi Brown lip color in Neon Pink is creamy and moisturizing, but not one of the softest and creamiest in the range. The shade is no way forgiving on chapped and dry lips. If you have dry flakes, it will accentuate them.  It has a subtle fragrance which isn’t prominent and disappears soon without being noticed. The finish is creamy with a hint of glossy finish; so you can say it settles to a semi-matte finish. The formula overall is non-drying and moisturizing for even dry lips and makes parched lips feel comfortable over the wearing time. It glides on easily without tugging.

Color/Coverage/Pigmentation:  The shade “Neon Pink” is a true fuchsia pink with cool undertones. The shade intensity is vibrant, bold and loud. Some of you might essentially need a lip liner to work with the shade for a neat look, but those with perfect practice, wouldn’t need it at all. I was scared to pick this shade because of the name “neon.” I feared it might turn out to be fluorescent and wash me out, but it didn’t :D. Rather it looks so pretty and wearable, perfect to pair with dark outfits. It looks a little fluorescent in the hand swatch, but it isn’t at all on the lips, just one of the best fuchsia pinks in town. It has wonderful pigmentation and two swipes deposit full color intensity with complete opaque coverage. The shade conceals lip pigmentation successfully. It will suit fair, light, medium and wheatish – all complexions.

Staying Power: The lipstick lasts forever on my lips; literally the longevity is infinite. The lip swatches will speak as evidence. When applied, it lasts for 9 hours (maximum I have worn it). Though the glossy finish fades with a full meal, but the color is very much there in full bloom. Even after 8-9 hours of wear, removing it with a wet cleansing wipe leaves behind a strong stain to be cleaned with a good makeup remover. It easily survives snacks, beverages, meal. In this time, it neither feathers, bleeds nor settles into lines. The only thing as a drawback is that it transfers especially when freshly applied; otherwise it is a very long-wearing lipstick. It fades evenly leaving behind a strong pink lip stain.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Bobbi Brown Neon Pink Lip Color?

I basically own a couple of other fuchsia pinks too; so this will last me so long that I might not need a repurchase soon. If you are looking for a beautiful fuchsia pink shade, this is one of the best recommendations I can make. In my stash, the closer drugstore dupe to Neon Pink is Maybelline Colorsensational Vivid Rose.
