Skin tone: Fair to medium
Today, I’m reviewing the Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder. It is my first product from the brand. After a lot of speculations, I finally decided to purchase this one. So, read on to find out how it fared for me.
Price: $52 for 6.6.gms
What it is: Subtle and natural, this ultra-soft, translucent pressed powder instantly gives skin a lit-from-within glow with a natural blend of skin-brightening botanicals and light-reflective powders.
Why it’s different: Features varying levels of pearlescent pigments in skin tone-correct shades for a naturally luminous effect. Plus, it’s formulated with a skin brightening blend of Mulberry, Grape and Scutellaria Extracts as well as moisture-magnet Sodium Hyaluronate.
My Experience with Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating Powder:
Packaging: Bobbi Brown Nude Finish Illuminating powder comes in a typical black cardboard packaging with the name of the brand mentioned in the front, shade name at the top and ingredients and other details at the back. The actual packaging of the powder is in a beige-toned container, which gives it a very classy and luxurious touch. Personally, I’m a fan of the packaging. We have a mirror with this powder, which is quite appreciable. And, we have the powder brick divided into six sections, which are way too gorgeous to look.
Shade: The powder comes in six shades, and I chose the shade ‘Nude’ as I wanted something very close to my skin tone. It is an ideal shade for women with light to medium skin tones. The powder brick is divided into six parts with a mix of shimmery (not overpowering) as well as matte shades.
Texture: It is a finely milled powder such that even the glittery shades have a super creamy texture. It does not make you look cakey, and it will suit well for both dry and oiled skinned beauties.
Coverage: As the name suggests, this illuminating powder can be used both as:
• A setting powder.
• A highlighter.
It provides a sheer coverage, and will not make your skin cakey as if you are wearing layers of makeup. It gives a very natural look to your skin. You can use this as a setting powder, and it will give a subtle illumination to the face, which looks very like a glow from within. Also, this can be used on the high points of the face just as a highlighter, in case, you want to skip the heavy highlight and want a subtle glow instead. As it is a nude powder, it’s difficult to swatch all the shades. As you can see, only the shimmer sections of the brick are majorly visible.
Staying Power: It stays for good 4-5 hours without making your face oily. Overall, it’s a great product for all those who are craving for ‘that natural glow’. And, the best thing about this one is that it illuminates and mattifies the skin at the same time. So, it’s a good option for oily skinned beauties.
