It has been 3 weeks since I wrote a review and it feels like too long already, but I am back now with a Bobbi Brown product! Bobbi Brown is one of the elite makeup brands and over the past year, they have been spreading their wings across India rapidly, which is great because now Bobbi Brown products are finally more accessible. Today, I am reviewing the Perfectly defined Gel Eyeliner in the shade “Sapphire.”

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner Sapphire:
When I hear the term gel eyeliner, I usually think of a pot and tiny brush combo, but this one comes in a pencil type form. The packaging is pretty neat and classy, just like the brand’s image with a small band of blue around the bottom indicating the shade of the eyeliner. It has got a cap and the product is a thin stick that twists up so you don’t have to ever worry about sharpening or messy lines while applying your eyeliner.
“Sapphire” is a deep royal blue with slight gold shimmer in it. The shimmer doesn’t really show but it does give the blue colour a slight glow. The colour isn’t very opaque, though I did expect more pigmentation from a Bobbi Brown product.
It’s easy to apply without any fuss and the colour looks really pretty if you’re looking for a subtle way to add colour to your eyes but don’t want a bold eyeliner. The colour can be built up to quite an extent, but it’s not an intense blue as such.
Staying power is rather decent. If I rub my eyes, the eyeliner would not smudge at all, instead it fades a little, but other than that, it stays on for 12 hours easily if I’ve intensified the colour.
The coolest thing about this product though is the built-in sharpener. The end of the tube can be pulled out to reveal a tiny sharpener that you can use to sharpen the tip of the eyeliner for a precise application. While I was amazed to find out there’s a sharpener in there, the product itself didn’t wow me as much as the sharpener.
Pros of Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner Sapphire:
- Pretty color.
- Smudgeproof.
- Easy to use.
- Built-in sharpener.
Cons of Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner Sapphire:
- Not very pigmented.
- Not worth the price.
Overall, there’s nothing special about the eyeliner. I had a blue one from MAC that I liked much better and if you want a blue eyeliner, you can buy one from any other brand because there’s nothing great about this one. I wouldn’t repurchase this for sure.
