Packaging:
Bobbi Brown luxe lipstick comes in a beautiful golden coloured packaging, with a black band in the centre. It comes packaged in a black coloured cardboard box. The Bobbi Brown logo is inscribed on the cap. The inner lipstick tube is black coloured. “Bobbi Brown” is written in golden colour on the cap and the cap closes firmly. Lipstick tube feels heavy and luxurious to hold in the hand.
My Experience with Bobbi Brown Plum Brandy Luxe Lip Color:
I was inclined to buy Bobbi Brown Luxe Lip Color mainly because the company claims that along with intense and bold colour, this lipstick’s formula boosts intense moisture levels while intensely rejuvenating the lips. Plum Brandy is a slightly muted, dark plummy burgundy with subtle cool undertones and a moderate sheen. It has good colour coverage, glides easily and gives a velvety look to my lips. The formula is rich and glossy, gives a rich and beautiful look to the lips. It keeps lips moderately moisturised, does not dry them out or make them patchy. My lips feel soft and supple, nourished and hydrated.
I do not feel the necessity to wear a gloss on top, or a lip balm under this lip colour. It does not spread or smudge. It stays put and does not transfer much. I first outline my lips with a lip liner, then apply this lip color using a lip brush. I have also tried applying directly, without a lip brush and without outlining my lips with a lip liner and it works well – no smudging or spreading. But, in that case, it tends to transfer.
Plum Brandy is an intensely pigmented colour that lasts easily for six hours, or even more. It stays put after having water, tea, coffee, soft drinks. But, it fades completely or leaves a light stain sometimes after full meal. Plum Brandy is a dark and intense shade, yet it suits my moderately fair skin and looks really beautiful and feels luxurious. The shade is buildable from sheer to intense, depending on the number of swipes. Two swipes are enough to get an opaque finish on my pigmented lips.
The texture is thin and satiny with moderate sheen. It does not feel heavy or creamy. I have been complemented on this shade. This shade is a dark plummy burgundy, but can be used for regular wear, evenings and special occasions. I prefer it for evenings and for special occasions.
