Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder Review

Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder Review

Hi everyone,

I am going to be reviewing for you all another product today, it is the Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder in the shade “Soft Honey.” I used to be a regular user of sheer pressed powder when I applied foundation, but have not been so regular with it since I stopped.  I previously made use of Bobbi Brown’s Sheer Finish Powder in the shade “Warm Natural,” which was basically just a setting powder, no colour! This one too is on similar lines, so let me talk you through it.

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder:

The sheer pressed powder comes in a black packaging, with Bobbi Brown written on the front in white font and the respective shade written behind. It also comes with a mirror and the powder applicator puff within the box. It is relatively light and I would not say it is bulky, but it will take a lot of your makeup pouch, if you are on the go.

As for the texture of the sheer finish pressed powder, it is really soft and fine. I would say that it is as good as Chanel’s formula in my opinion. As for the colour of the powder, I sort of prefer the shade “warm natural” over this one, because this makes my skin look a bit darker than its usual self and I don’t really like that very much. However, like the other sheer pressed powder, this one too feels really light on the face upon application and does not feel greasy or melts onto your face when applied over makeup. In fact, it does a fine job of absorbing the oil and making your face look less greasy and oily.

Since it is a sheer powder, the coverage is minimal.  I would not say it perfectly covers any blemishes or acne marks; it however makes them slightly less visible. The powder blends really well as well and does not sit on your face if it is well moisturised. The one thing I did not like about the powder was that it makes the dry spots look more evident upon application if skin is not moisturised well and also settles into fine lines, not giving a flawless look to the skin. You need to moisturise your face really well before applying this powder, otherwise it would make your dry skin look more dry once you apply this.

Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder

Overall, I definitely prefer the Chanel Loose Powder over this one without a doubt. I enjoy the soft and velvety texture of this sheer pressed powder, but I don’t like how it makes my skin look dry and slightly dull (because of the shade) upon application.

Pros of Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder:

  • Lovely soft and velvety texture.
  • Absorbs oil really well and makes your skin look less greasy and gives it a fresh look.
  • The packaging is classy and comes with a mirror and powder puff, the powder puff is extremely soft, gives it extra brownie points!

Cons of Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder:

  • Settles into fine lines and makes dry spots more evident than usual.
  • The shade made my skin look darker and less bright!
  • I had to apply a lot of moisturiser to make sure my skin did not look super dry.
  • Provides minimal coverage and so does not cover acne scars or blemishes.

Would I Repurchase Bobbi Brown Sheer Finish Pressed Powder?

I would say it is a good powder and definitely a luxurious experience from the high street brands, however, once you use the Chanel, there is no going back. So, a miss from my end!
