Bobbi Brown Shimmer Lip Gloss – Rose Sugar #3
In continuation with our “Back with Bobbi” series and our new found love for lip glosses (thanks to Rati’s posts on MAC lipglasses) – I bring to you another lip gloss from the Bobbi Brown collection – but this time a Shimmer one. This one is shade #3, Rose Sugar.Bobbi Brown offers 8 different TYPES of glosses, apart from her gloss palattes – You really are spoilt for choice in terms of type and shade. I had heard a lot about the shimmer glosses from Bobbi Brown and really wanted to try one.
The Product Details (from the website):
Shimmer Lip Gloss offers beautiful, non-sticky shine with a touch of iridescence and is perfect on its own or over your favorite lipstick. Formulated with Aloe Extract to soothe and soften lips; Vitamins C and E for anti-oxidant protection; and Jojoba and Avocado Oils to moisturize lips.
Price:
US $24 for 7ml
I have a mini version – cost me about INR1200 for 4.2ml (post conversions)
Packaging:
The lipgloss has a square transparent plastic bottle and comes with a brush like applicator. It’s extremely easy to apply and use around the lips curves. Packaging is easy to carry for re-application – since its small.
My experience with Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – #3 Rose Sugar:
Color: The colour “Rose Sugar” is described on the website as “a Rosy Pink.”I feel the colour is pale pink with shimmer. The lip swatch does not do justice to the colour. It works well in its own but truly sparkles over another lip colour.
Texture: The texture is obviously glossy and a little sticky.
Pigmentation: It can be sheered out or built to colour in the tube by using a little more product when applying.
Lasting power:On its own, it lasts about 3hours. On top of a lipstick, it lasts a little longer.
Pros of Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – #3 Rose Sugar:
1. A beautiful Dusky pale rose colour with shimmer – due to the shimmer, works better on top of a lipstick –adding the shine with depth.
2. Easy to use applicator
3. Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips
4. Felt hydrating
5. Convenient smallpackaging
6. Light pleasant fragrance – easy on the nose.
Cons of Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss – #3 Rose Sugar:
1. As mentioned in earlier reviews, the product quantity to price ratio is not ok – despite its good quality.
Yes, a 4.5/5 product.
I have tried 3 glosses from the Bobbi Brown range and found the texture and quality to be consistent. I find this aspect to be great as it allows you to pick any colour from the range without worrying about how it will turn out.

Love the shade, looking very good on you.
*thankyou* Rini! My collection has been built over time – not overnite. I resist the temptation to buy loads of stuff, and rather pick up 1-2 high quality products. And thats what I review for you. Yes, they are costly at times – but I save to buy something I like. *hifive*
No! Don’t do lootmar – just stop the urge to pick up 2-3 drugstore products – and buy 1 high end product instead.
