The Body Shop products are a popular choice among people who care about ethical processes and insist on using products without any animal testing. The Body Shop also implements its “Ethical Trade Initiative” which ensures that the people who make and supply their products are fairly and respectfully treated.

The Body Shop has quite an extensive men’s range available in India, but they probably need to step up their advertising a little.  I gifted The Body Shop Arber Eau de Toilette to my husband; I tried a few of their other scents and decided on this one.

Product Description:

This EDT claims to have citrus top notes, a heart of coriander and mint, and an earthy woody base of sandalwood.

My Take on The Body Shop Arber Eau de Toilette:

The perfume comes in a no-nonsense, simple, but elegant brown bottle. There is a tiny metal cap with the TBS logo on it. The ingredients are listed in detail on the back. There is not much of other information on the bottle.  Directions to use are to spray directly onto the neck and pulse points.

The perfume does not leave behind any residue whatsoever. Immediately on spraying, you get a slightly tangy feel (can you say “tangy” about a smell? 😛 ) as well as a hint of mint (rhymes!!).  A little later, the woodiness of the sandal comes through and I love this part of the perfume! Overall, it is a very masculine scent and quite alluring too!

The scent lasts well for about 5 hours, after which it gets significantly weaker.  So, I’m not sure about its staying power in the hot Indian summer. I personally feel that it would be ideal for a casual evening in any climate.

My husband has sensitive skin but he did not face any kind of irritation on using this product. He was quite happy with the way it smelt. It is not too strong and overpowering, but is just there. He also has a tendency to allergies with most perfumes, but this one didn’t cause any problem at all.

The Arber range also includes a Hair and Body Wash, which when layered with the EDT will probably make the scent last longer, need to get that next!!

Cons of The Body Shop Arber Eau de Toilette:

• Scent doesn’t last for too long when used on its own.
• Might not be suitable for extreme hot and humid climates.

Verdict:

This is a great perfume, especially for those who like mild scents. I only wish it lasted a little longer. The SA at The Body Shop did mention that it would last only for 4-5 hours, so I guess I shouldn’t expect more. All in all, this is a mild, pleasant, and masculine fragrance!!
