The Body Shop Born Lippy Mango Peach Lip Balm

I am quite late to “The Body Shop Lip Balm” party.  Like I said in my TBS Passion Berry Lip Balm review, a friend of mine sent me the celebrated Satsuma shimmer balm and the citrus fragrance was enough to drive me crazy and not to mention the soft and gooey lip balm which is such a delight to apply throughout the day due to its light texture.  It is very different from those heavy lip balms you literally need to scrape off the tub.

I know many of us dislike the tub form of lip balms since we need to dig in our nails to scoop some balm out, but this balm is so soft and gooey in texture that just a light swipe gets you enough of it and hence the hassle of balm in your nails is not so bothersome.

The balm I would say is light to medium in texture, just like the Passion Berry balm.  This is more like a maintenance balm for my not-so- dry lips. In case you need something heavier for chapped lips or for overnight usage, you can try their vitamin E stick lip balm.

The tub is not to my liking.  It seems like cheap plastic, but I believe it says recyclable, so I am ready to forgive and forget.  The lip balm comes with a fine screw cap, so I don’t need to bother with losing the cap in my bag unlike some of the stick lip balms where more than once the cap has gone missing.

Last and the least comes the fragrance. This reminds me of the “Rasna” artificial, sweet orangey smell. I don’t know why I did not like as much I liked the other balms I have from TBS.  The smell is sweetish and artificial and reminds me of some cheap lip balm I would have used ages ago.

Last Word:

For the price, I think these are nice maintenance lip balms.  Being light, do not expect them to cure your chapped lips.  I did not like the smell of this one as it’s a little artificially sweet for me. I would stick to my Passion Berry and Satsuma lip balms from TBS.  Do check out many more versions of the balm to find your fragrance, strawberry and others have been reviewed on IMBB.

  1. Did someone say Mango?! I am a complete sucker for mangoes.. i just love mangoes.. 😀 😀 Doesn’t cure dry lips?? not for me then. My lips tend to get dry and chapped and hence i am on a “no lipstick for a month” phase. I am currently using my himalaya natural moisturizing lip balm. it is good.

  2. I love how all these TBS balms smell but somehow don’t like their texture much! 😐 i feel they are a little sticky on the lips but yes these are good maintenance balms for not so dry lips as u said. 🙂

  3. I don’t have any TBS balms, but since you mentioned it, I just remembered that I was going to buy their Vit E stick balm a while back, but gave it a miss. Now I think I should get that as I have seriously dry lips. Nice review, and nice photos.
