The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream Review

Hey gorgeous gals,

Let us take a quick break from liquid lipsticks *collective eye roll* and do a “Body Shop” review instead. I have a love-hate relationship with the brand. The products that I like from them are pretty much daily staples for me while the rest of them leave me totally underwhelmed. Let us find out in which category today’s review belong. I am going to review The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream.

My Experience with The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream:

Packaging:
The product comes packaged in a small, aluminium tube with a twist up cap – a pretty standard packaging. The first thing that hits you is the size of it. It is a 30 ml of product. I am used to hand creams being about 75 ml, so in comparison, this seemed like a deluxe sample, rather than a full product. 😉 Considering that the brand wants this as a travel-friendly product – the “on-the-go hydration claim” – I guess the size fits in perfectly, just like L’Occitane travel hand cream tubes.

My skin type, except for my face, my skin is extremely dry. My hands have been hard hit ever since I became a mom because they are perpetually losing moisture, being in and out of water. The worst part is that your days are so full that taking care of your skin and such, can end up taking a back seat. Hands just get neglected, unless you consciously make an effort to hydrate them during the course of the day or do deep nourishing before sleeping at night.

I picked this product up a couple of weeks back wanting to consciously manage the health of my hands. What I mentioned above, coupled with the coolness of the winter season, were making my hands feel like sandpaper.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream Review

This hand cream has a soft, pleasant fragrance. It is absolutely not overpowering. The texture is a lightweight gel-cream which spreads easily and absorbs readily into the skin. It gets totally absorbed by the skin leaving no residue, no feeling of stickiness, whatsoever. You can apply this and go back to work instantly without having to worry about it transferring onto any surface you touch – paper, laptop, etc.

My hands feel softer post using this. However, this is in no way an intensive hydration cream. The cream provides nice light hydration. This isn’t the product my hands needed, in the current state. In the current scenario, my hands needed a more hydrating product, with sufficient amount of shea butter, like L’Occitane 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream. However, this is not a drawback of the product, just a mis-match of product versus what I needed. The brand has not advertised it as a deep nourishing product. On the contrary, they have been clear in stating that the product is a lightweight gel-cream which absorbs easily and is fit for “on-the-go”! I feel that the hand cream lives up to the claims made by the brand.

To sum this up for you:

Pros of The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream:

  • Extremely lightweight.
  • Absorbs quickly.
  • Spreads easily.
  • No white cast at all.
  • No sign of greasiness or residue left behind.
  • Does not stain.
  • Has a lovely, soft fragrance.
  • Small enough to be able to carry it with you.

Cons of The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream:

  • Nothing at all.

IMBB Rating:
A 4.5/5 product.
Would I Recommend/Repurchase The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Hand Cream?
It’s a nice product – easy to apply, easy to carry, with a non-greasy texture and a decent price point. I think it works well and would be a good option to have in your bag, without the need to break the bank or offer serious commitment. The product is meant for people whose hands aren’t really too dry. Meant more for people on the go – who would just like to ensure they apply a hand cream every time they wash their hands or who work in air-conditioned environment and need to provide light nourishment to the hands form time to time. If the above conditions fit you – I would totally recommend this to you. However, on the personal front, I probably would not repurchase this product as I want something more nourishing and hydrating.
