The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel Review

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel Review

I really like Christmas and New Year “time” of the year. Christmas day, Boxing day, as well as New Year are public holidays here and most of the offices are closed on the three days in-between. It is a good holiday time to go interstate for vacation, some people also travel abroad. The next best thing is that most stores such as L’Occitane, Body Shop, and Crabtree and Evelyn have their Christmas editions come out. I look forward eagerly to try them out.  However, as these products are new in the market, there won’t be any reviews on the net. So, I mostly buy travel size versions just in case. At the time of writing this review, I couldn’t find any reviews on the net on The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel 🙂

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel Review

The Body Shop Christmas edition has three different lines:

  • Ginger Sparkle.
  • Cranberry Joy.
  • Vanilla Bliss.

According to the SA, the Cranberry Joy is not new, it gets re-introduced at each Christmas with a different packaging.  However, the “Ginger Sparkle” as well as the “Vanilla Bliss” lines are brand new and different to their former versions such as “Spiced Ginger,” “Candied Ginger” and “Spiced Vanilla,” etc.

Each of these lines contain body butter, shower gel, body polish, lotion, soap, hand cream, hand wash as well as hand lotion.  I bought the shower gel as well as the body butter. I have never used any kind of ginger-based body products and the cute ginger bread man on all the packaging was too cute to ignore, just in line with my festive mood. I will be reviewing The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel.

My Experience with The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel:

I love the cute seasonal packaging, with the ginger bread man on the label. The product is of a light brown colour and the consistency is quite thick, just like most other Body Shop shower gels.  Only a small amount is needed each time and the product lathers well with a loofah.  Since the consistency is a bit thick, it works well with the loofah. The fragrance of the gel is just like gingerbread. It is a warm gingery scent with a touch of sweetness. Another reason why I picked this up was because of the unisex fragrance. Since this fragrance is not sweet or too masculine, it would suit both the sexes. I was willing to share it with hubby dearest, but he as always, prefers soap. I bought him the Lush “dirty” soap instead. This shower gel’s fragrance lasts a bit, at least for 3 hours, but lasts the whole day when layered with body butter.

Pros of The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel:

  • The cute gingerbread man and the festive labels make these the best Christmas presents, and different gift sets are also available.
  • Smells of ginger with a bit of sweetness and would suit both sexes.
  • A whole range of products are available for layering.
  • The scent lasts for a couple of hours, and I am stating this as a pro because compared to other Body Shop products, this is long lasting.
  • Travel-friendly size available.

Cons of The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel:

  • If you are into sweet and feminine scents, this product is not for you.
  • Might not be available immediately in India, but it is available in USA, UK, Singapore and Australia.

IMBB Rating:

4/5.

Will I Repurchase The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Shower Gel?

Since this lathers well with a loofah, it might last me quite a while. However, as always, the full size version (250 ml) is more value for money. I bought the 60 ml only because I couldn’t see any reviews. I will repurchase the 250 ml.

    1. Yes Rati, it is so wintery ,its a pity it is spring here atm. Nevertheless,I purchased the body butter as well ,…… smells warm and cosy so different from anything I have owned before

  1. Thanks Lakshmi,… sorry I should have mentioned .

I bought it as a gift set .For this mini shower gel, mini body butter and a bath lily it was AUD 25.

More value for money if you buy the big ones.
